    Great decision in my opinion.

Now we wait for Showtime to hire a successor.

Wow. Showtime has been quite fantastic over the last couple of years, while HBO have been mostly awful. I guess it's better to have him in charge of the bigger station and with the bigger budget.

Massive blow to Showtime, but Hershamn is an innovator. HBO must have respected the balls he showed going after them like that. One of the better moves HBO could have made.

Completely unforseen, but a pleasant surprise IMO. Showtime boxing has been doing great things with a fraction of the budget of HBO, putting together the Super 6 was a hell of a feat if you really think about it. Hershman was the driving force behind all that. Great news for the sport in general I think.

WOW! Ken Hershman New President of HBO Sports!

According to a report by Broadcasting & Cable, Showtime confirmed that sports chief Ken Hershman has left the company, and sources say HBO Sports is expected to formally name him to replace Ross Greenburg.

HBO received a significant blow when promoter Bob Arum turned to rival Showtime for the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley fight in May, although it’s not clear whether that has anything to do with Greenburg’s departure.

It is unclear when the announcement will become official.

"This is an HBO decision, and an internal decision," said Arum. "HBO is free to appoint anybody it wants in any position that it wants at HBO. Other than that, I have no reaction and no comment."

Man, who saw that coming? Good pick up for HBO. I'm just concerned that Showtime might have less boxing now.

              He's the guy from Showtime?

If so that's dope, showtime knows how to put on competitive fights for little money.

Hershman is going to be a kid in a candy shop with his new budget and clout. Awesome, don't be surprised if there's a very noticable difference in HBO's mission going forward and quality of fights. Great news. Strange seeing good news for boxing.. I guess something awful is going to happen real soon..

Maybe he can set up A SUper SUper 6 something like Floyd, MAnny, Cotto, Sergio, Khan, and Canelo round robin.
