I don't know why JCC Jr. elicits so much hate on these boards. Sure he's frowned away from any real challenges so far in his career, but the kid did not have an amateur career and had to 'learn on the job.'

I do have some criticism of him: he's inconsistent from one fight to next i.e. he'll look good in one fight and then he'll bluff his way through the next fight; his conditioning has been suspect at times and he's been known to blow up between fights....

However, I do like watching his fights and for a high profile fighter, he fights relatively frequently. I thought he looked decent against Zbik and proved that he can go 12 hard rounds without withering....

Also I think Manfredo is a definite live underdog here. Manfredo is a seasoned veteran and has a lot of experience against some good fighters and has been fighting his way back into contention for awhile now. You tell that Manfredo is hungry and knows it's 'do or die' time for him at this point in his career. Having said that, I think we'll see an entertaining and competitive fight...

I agree Boston. . . I don't understand a lot of the passionate hate either. . . lol it's funny to make a joke or two, but he really has come a long way. and people forget the guy had no amateur career like you said. Zbik was a very good win IMO. .

I don't think Manfredo has much of a chance, though - not as nearly as good as Zbik, nor does he have speed, or any kind of punch to speak of. Chavez should brutalize him for 12 rounds, or maybe stop him.

I might go to this, just because it's an excuse to go to Houston (one of the sickest cities in America). This fight means very little to me though, but I think Manfredo might take it. That's good on one hand, but I really want to see Jr vs. Alvarez while they are both undefeated.

Yup! Jr. has fought 45 times and these guys are talking about not having a amateur career? Please, he hasn't even had a professional career at 24! I really don't see why people like him besides his last name.
