Povetkin's handlers are worried that Povetkin can't beat a 49 year old Holyfield that lost to Ibragimov!

The saddest part is; their worries are legit.

Yes, very bad, but no worse than Haye's "defences"........ Actually a bit better.

Nah, Povetkin isn't that good Rahman could ko him, Povetkin was hurt several times by Chagaev who isn't the biggest puncher.

It's hard to imagine Holyfield pricing himself out of the fight since he wants a title shot so bad. I'm thinking Povetkins team is very worried like you said, or they gave Holyfield a very very low offer.

Rahman is a fat slob now.

No way they would choose Rahman over Holyfield unless it's because of the backlash fighting a near 50 yr old Evander. Much more upside in fighting Holyfield... more fan interest.. more money generated & a chance to be a legend killer.. say what you want but any fighter out there would love a chance to finally end his career & be remembered for that. If they go with Rahman.. they're fools.

Yeah, Holyfield fight would definitely generate much more money, it would be a huge event in Switherland, while Povetkin - Rahman won't even be the main event of the evening - it will be held on the undercard of Robert Helenius' fight and rightfully so.

But you know what: even 50 y.o. Holyfiled is more dangerous than 290 lbs version of Rahman, and Povetkin's team ALWAYS took the easiest opponents available.

What can anyone expect from the WBA Marginal Champion....or, is that regular?

Holyfield - Povetkin would be better than Rahman vs Povetkin. Evander is a legend and he's already beaten Rahman. Last time I saw Hasim he was being destroyed by Klitschko. Before that Evander beat him. Maybe team Povetkin dont think he is ready for a washed up 50 year old and want him to have an easier fight? Wouldnt surprise me.

You're absolutely right! At least Holy keeps himself in good shape, unlike Rahman, who is exactly 60 (!!!) lbs heavier nowdays than he was when 40 y.o. Holyfield kicked his ass in 2002.

Seriously. I don't know which is worse, Wlad vs. Mormeck or Povetkin vs. Rahman. I can't really fault Wlad, he's just staying active but Mormeck really is a lousy opponent.

As for Povetkin, when the hell is he going to step up to the plate?
