Comments Thread For: Harris: I Have No Problem Going To Take Povetkin's Title

With no opponent being confirmed yet for Alexander Povetkin’s first defence of his WBA Heavyweight title, one American wants his name put in the hat – and it’s not Evander Holyfield.

Is this a sick joke? Maurice ****ing Harris? This guy got clobbered by a slow lethargic and uninspired Tony Thompson. Actually it looked like Harris wasn't even trying to win the fight. Harris is a journeyman, not in any way a contender worthly of a title shot..

Teddy Atlas wants Maurice Harris to be Povetkin's opponent, but Harris isn't ranked by the WBA.

But the slimey bastards can probably get a ranking for him by next month, after all they got Audley ranked after he signed for Haye.

The glass-chinned Harris is a terrible opponent - even the past prime Hasim Rahman is MUCH better.

Monte Barrett earned this shot by beating Tua, not once, but twice.

Barrett deserves this shot over Holyfield, Rahman, and Harris combined.

            Shame on Teddy Atlas!

Yes, Barrett earned the shot -- Teddy is probably afraid he'd beat Povetkin.

Maurice Harris is old, shot and fat jorneyman. Even 50 y.o. Holyfield is better. However, I actually give him a puncher chance against this russian coward. Harris KTFO'ed prime Sergey Liakhovich, who had an average chin. Povetkin has a GLASS JAW, simple as that. And that is the only reason, why his promoters keep him far away from decent punchers. Chagaev hurt him badly in the 6th round and Ruslan hadn't stopped any opponents since July 2006. Even feather-fisted Eddie Chambers rocked him. But the biggest proof of Povetkin's glass jaw is his amateur fight against extremely feather-fisted Ukrainian fighter Oleksiy Mazikin (16-6-2, 3 KO!!!). Mazikin knocked him down and hurt him badly with a single punch! If guy, whose KO% is only 12,5% did it in amateurs with headgears and soft gloves, imagine what would both Klitschko's, Haye and Helenius do to this fuсking coward, named Alexander Povetkin. All of them would knock him out cold!
