I d say since he won the cruiserweight title (1986) till his last trilogy fight with Bowe(1995) after he still beat Tyson and avenged his lost to Moorer.

Those 3 fights with Bowe took a lot of both guys.

normally, i'd give an answer here, but i'd hate for Holyfield to get on here and read this and get mad cus we don't think he's in his prime anymore and fight another 5 fights after his next one in Germany which he'll most likely lose making it a 4-fight losing streak...

so after a hard thought-out decision, i won't respond with Holyfield's health in mind.

i would say he was in his prime when he defeated James "Buster" Douglass for the undisputed heavyweight crown.

until the second fight with bowe, he did won it but it was more because bowe was overweight than him being great(the first fight must have taking alot out of him). he had some setback in between until when he fough tyson to the second fight with moorer. from then he had some great fights but he never impress like he used too.

yeah I think the fights with bowe mark the end of his prime, come on when you go to war like that you are not going to be the same
