It's 75/25 when it's champ v. challenger, 80/20 when the champ has to visit the challenger's backyard, and 55/45 in the event of "full/regular" titlist vs. interim titlist.

This is where interim titlists actually come in handy. When you're avoided as a mandatory, you pick up a belt and the price tag goes up. I'm not endorsing the practice or anything, but just saying that its purpose is served when properly utilized

Neither one of these guys is a draw. Ramos is half-Puerto Rican, so it would've made sense to have him on the undercard of Cotto-Margarito. Rico can't draw flies by himself.

Rico will not fight Guille!!! I honestly expect Rico to vacate his belt (by the advice of Al Haymon, ofcourse). It's that simple!

And then do what? Nobody gives a crap about Runnin' Rico now, who's gonna pay any mind to a beltless version.

I know people talk -ish about belts not mattering, but Ramos is a big example of how they do still matter. Without a belt, he's even more anonymous than already is the case.

Think about this - he gives up a belt... and does what? Arum is colleting every belt at 122 and 126. Ramos' only option would be to move up to 126 and fight Jhonny Gonzalez. Given Ramos' style, that fight is a death sentence.
