What About Cotto vs Bradley At 150?

Bradley is a more refined boxer now, and to say his skills don't match Cotto's is going overboard, I can understand if we were back in 08 but it's 2011 and Cotto ain't nearly the fighter he was back then. I find him to be too repetitious in his approach where as Bradley gives you a new look every now and then, and remember...I'm talking this version of Miguel.Tim has great stamina but his skills don't match those of Cotto and his power is average at best. Tim is also the smaller men and would be fighting with 10oz gloves compared to the 8oz gloves they use at 140 and 147. Cotto would walk him down and probably stop him late or coast to a UD. BTW watch the Bradley/Holt fight Tim gets hit by some vicious left hooks in that fight.Comment

I think Cotto beats him.
Cotto is a better boxer, has a great jab, smart and has much more experience under the big lights. Bradley doesn't have overwhelming power or speed that Cotto's never seen more him simply being a busy fighter. The only thing Cotto's genuinely gotta worry about is Bradley's head, and with how Cotto's scar tissue is over his eye, you know a simple clash could open that cut wide open.
Overall though, Bradley is good, I just don't see him as an elite guy, even today.Comment

But I don't see Bradley making Cotto uncomfortable do you? Cotto gets uncomfortable when he's backed up by someone that can hurt him...Bradley doesn't fit that. And I wouldn't say his right hand has been non existent at the elite level--as you have noted yourself, it was great against Mosley, and it was fine against Margarito as well. Since the Margarito fight I agree it's been almost non existent but hopefully now that he's further removed from the surgery it will be better...I know for a fact he's working on it with the new trainer. That's the thing though, I don't see Cotto forcing Bradley to do anything he's incapable of doing because Bradley has the quicker feet, and I do acknowledge Cotto's ability to cut off the ring. Just that there is no area Bradley can't fight in. Also, Cotto's right hand is another reason why I'm confident in picking Bradley, at the elite level Cotto's right hand is really neglected or maybe it's the surgery as you said, but I can safely say that it's almost non existent.
Another thing that needs to be viewed is Bradley's defense in close, he's not nearly as vulnerable as Cotto. "Bradley isn't crazy active" notice that Holt, Alexander were afraid to get swamped, hence they were excessive in clinching, whenever you get the chance to rewatch those fights...take note of that. I'm not saying he's Calzaghe-like in activity, but he's definitely active and unlike Alexander, Holt...Cotto does not clinch.
I know Bradley's active...but he's active exactly how Cotto's active. He will never go through lulls of inactivity but he's not necessarily a high volume guy.
I really just don't see much Bradley can do that will bother Cotto. We've never seen Cotto really outboxed, just outslugged by Margarito. He was sort of outboxed by Pac but that wasn't until he was really hurt, and Bradley can't hurt him like that. We'll probably have to agree to disagree on this one....I definitely see what you mean, I just think Cotto would get the best of him. I can't see Bradley fighting Cotto like he did the guys at 140, I think the intangible of dealing with a bigger, stronger guy like that could throw a wrench in his gameplan.
If Bradley were to beat him I think he'd have to just outslug him on the inside and land noticeably more...I definitely don't think he's capable of outboxing Cotto, he's just not that type of fighter.Comment

As for his right hand, that's true, I should have noted recently. As for Bradley not making Cotto uncomfortable, Tim still has his head you knowBut I don't see Bradley making Cotto uncomfortable do you? In the bold, he's capable of doing a little bit of everything. Cotto will lead, Bradley will counter and at times choose to fight on the inside, then get out whenever he feels like as he has the quicker feet. Another thing I like about Bradley is how he gets low; making himself a smaller target to hit.Comment
