Comments Thread For: Macklin: I Know What To Do Against Sergio Martinez

Matthew Macklin says he's determined to be the man to end Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez's reign as World Middleweight Champion but he's refusing to resort to trash talking in a bid to get the Argentinian in the ring with him.

Macklin would certeinly throw more punches, he's not as good a boxer as Barker but he's more powerful, and will put more pressure on Martinez. Macklin-Barker is the fight I want to see though.

After Martinez fought Barker & Barker gave Martinez more of a fight than anyone anticipated, now ALL OF A SUDDEN everyone knows how to beat Martinez.. Barker did give Martinez a very good fight, but he WASN'T winning!! Barker was just Making Martinez work harder to earn that victory & at the end Martinez broke him down..Barker did show that the jab does bother Martinez & Barker did have have a very tight defense(sort of style like Quartey & Clottey) but other than that, Martinez just worked around all that & managed to get a KO victory & by the way it was going Martinez would have gotten a decision victory.. After this fight lot of people are trying to find flaws in Martinez(& there's no doubt he has them just like every other fighter)& they actually think that by watching that fight they found them.. But not many have stop to think that most likely Barker was a WHOLE LOT BETTER fighter than everyone expected & that's the main reason the fight went that way..

That would be a more competitive fight.

Sergio should fight one of the more talented middleweigts, like Pirog or Golovkin. N'Jikam would be better than Macklin and Lee.

Macklin has the plan until he eats some flush punches. After that, he asks his corner how long before his eyes are swollen shut.

Macklin moved to NYC to steal Duddy's old fans?

Seriously though, Barker, Macklin, Dzinziruk are all good boxers but they are similar level and not even close to Martinez at his best. Macklin comes to fight and would be game enough to please the crowd, but a late (but brave) stoppage is on the cards just like against Jamie Moore.

                    some fvkin chance.
he would have to face darren barker i think to be judged as to whether or not he would put up a fight, which he would not.
                    ****.
