Comments Thread For: DeGuardia Goes Behind The Scenes on Wolak-Rodriguez

Joe DeGuardia, the promoter from the Bronx, is a glass half-full type of guy. But more than three months after his fighter, Delvin Rodriguez waged one of the more memorable bouts with Pawel Wolak on Friday Night Fights on July 15, a rematch seemed unlikely. The two battled to a majority draw, Wolak fought nearly the second half of the fight with his right eye shut, and Rodriguez comported himself more than adequately, moving up from welterweight to junior middleweight for the fight. ain't gonna happen deguardia - rodriguez is gonna get beat proper by WAR WOLAK this time. . . Wolak should have gotten the nod last time - yeah, it was close, but wolak landed so many more clean shots. . . wolak did a lot of mauling and not a lot of clean punching, but he also hit rodriguez with many more clean shots - throwing about twice the punches and landing a lot more. . . rodriguez just got the judges who liked to see boxers go off the back-foot with some nice counters - he snapped wolak's head back a few times, but not nearly as much as wolak popped his dome back. . THE EYE-PIECE is what caught judges eyes as well.. .

4-2 wolak. . . rodriguez had exactly TWO moments of nice flurries. . . other than that wolak landing all kinds of punches from angles on rodriguez. . . those two flashy moments weren't enough to take the round. . . 4-2, Wolak. . .

4-3 WOLAK. . . thought rodriguez did enough with his placed punches to take the round. . . 4-3, WOLAK

                5-3 Wolak. . . round 8 DEFINITELY favored Wolak. . . more head-snapping punches + aggression = clear WINRAR. . . 5-3, WOLAK.

5-4, Wolak. . . Rodriguez best round of the fight - had 4 or 5 moments where he landed accurate, snapping shots. . Wolak had a nice flurry and series of clean punches at the end of the round, but by far Rodriguez won the round. . . 5,4 WOLAK. . . LAST ROUND COMING UP

5-5 draw. . . damn, I guess I was wrong scoring that last round when I first watched the fight. . . Rodriguez stole it with that last flurry at the end. . . and I think even though he fought past the bell, that really showed the judges he wanted it. . . wolak definitely landed some clean, head-snapping shots in that round, but rodriguez landed more devastating punches last round, 5-5 DRAW!!!!
WAR WOLAK! WAR RODRIGUEZ! LET'S TAKE THE REMATCH WOLAK!!! Wouldn't mind at all seeing delvin win it either, he's been robbed a lot, but he WAS NOT robbed in the fight against wolak. . .
