Comments Thread For: Vyacheslav Glazkov-Samuel Peter in Play For Nov. 4

According to boxing manager/promoter Vladimir Hryunov there have been discussions for a fight between Russian heavyweight prospect Vyacheslav Glazkov (9-0, 6KOs) and former champion Samuel Peter (34-5, 27KOs). Offers have been made, but nothing is finalized for the moment. Peter, 31-years-old, has been inactive since getting knocked out by Robert Helenius in February. If an agreement is reached, the boxers would face each other on the James Toney-Denis Lebedev card on November 4th in Moscow, Russia.

Peter is a very dangerous opponent for Glazkov (9-0).

But if he wins, he'll likely receive a ranking from one of the sanctioning organizations.

    Some mistakes in this article:

Sam Peter fought Helenius in April, not February.

Glazkov has been inactive longer than Peter, since March.

Glazkov is an average-sized, moderate-power heavyweight.

But he is somewhat athletic and has excellent technical skills.

He doesn't seem to be well-managed, he hasn't fought since March, and now he's taking on a dangerous puncher in Peter.

Too bad Glazkov isn't with a promoter who could keep him active, like Sauerland.

        Here he is:

damn he is very technical! look how he step into that jab! his left hook looks similar to wladimir's - how he can come across with it from halfway across the ring it seems. . . has the perfect arch on it to generate maximum power. . .

definitely highly technical. . . jab, and combinations appear to be cracking! but he might have some problems with peter if he hasn't faced anybody of his level yet, especially power and toughness. wladimir said peter is the toughest fighter. . . but his punches are so much faster and his 1-2 is straight down the pipe so he will get to the punch first all night. . .

SHOULD BE A CRACKER OF A FIGHT!

He only got bronze in the Olympics because he got injured and couldn't fight in the semi's. He would have faced 6'7 Zhang who he had beat at the Worlds the year before. The fights on youtube.

                Here he is:

He's 6'3 and has weighed between 220-230 as a pro. Even at 230 he still looks very lean, his frame could handle 235 easy so he's a good size. He also fought at SHW in the amateurs against giants like Zhang so he's used to the 6'6 + guys.

I don't think it's his promoter. Glazkov has had at least 3 or 4 fights there were supposed to take place since Bakhtov but his opponents keep pulling out.

Bakhtov is a dangerous hard hitting HW who was coming off of 2 stoppage victories over German HW prospect Kretschmann.

I looked but Glazkov vs Bakhtov wasn't on youtube, check the trading block. Here's Bakhtov vs Kretschmann I and i would think that Bakhtov may be more dangerous than the current Peter who has not looked great in recent times.

I think Glazkov would beat Peter without much trouble. The only possible hurdle is that his last fight against Bakhtov was his first 8 rounder and he did look to get a little tired the last round or two. If it ends up being 10 rounds and Vyacheslav gets tired the last 2 or 3 rounds that might be trouble.

                  Peter vs. Glazkov
                  Sillakh vs. Vlasov
                  Bakhtin vs. Moore
