    Miguel Cotto.....

When Pacquiao fought Cotto, Miguel had just been destroyed by Margarito and then battered by Clottey. EVERY reputable trainer/reporter/analyst said that Cotto looked shop-worn and well-faded, and that he had been in too many wars.

Cotto was not on top of his game, he had begun to slide, he had no trainer to speak of, and was struggling with problems both in camp and at home relating to a family matter that affected his relationship with head trainer Evan Cotto.

Miguel was not on top of his game, and he most certainly was not in his prime..... plus, Pacquiao tried to drain him on the scales.

Listen to this reporter's take on the subject, shortly after the Clottey fight....

"I wasn’t exactly shocked to see Manny Pacquiao’s name being linked for a fight with Miguel Cotto after the Puerto Rican fighters disappointing performance last Saturday night against Joshua Clottey. As bad as Cotto looked in the fight, and believe me Cotto looked pretty awful, it seemed like a no brainer that Pacquiao would then select him as his next opponent.

But my question is why isn’t Pacquiao going after Shane Mosley or Paul Williams instead? Why the emphasis at fighting Cotto, when he was destroyed by Antonio Margarito last year? It seems to me the much better choice for Pacquiao would be to go after Mosley, since he beat Margarito a few months ago by a 9th round TKO.

Since Margarito has already stopped Cotto, the logical choice for Pacquiao to fight would be Mosley. That’s the bout that Pacquiao should be going after unless he wants to be considered a cherry picker.
    "

Pacquiao saw that Cotto was ripe, so he jumped on him, but even the fact that Cotto had faded was not enough of an advantage for 27%..... so he demanded a catch-weight of 145lbs.

A catch-weight, for a title fight..... *** me, that is lame.

Cotto of course, flatly refused. Miguel stated "147 if you want my title, but no-title if you need a catchweight". Of course, 27% demanded a catchweight and the title, it became a sticking point to get the fight made, so Cotto was forced to concede.

But even that was not enough for 27%, he demanded 143, even though his trainer Freddie Roach agreed to 144. Luckily for Miguel he stuck to his guns, or those cherry-picking ****s would have dragged him down to 143lbs.....

    Catch-weights.....

There are only two reasons to demand a catch-weight.....

1.) you are not good enough to compete with your opponent at his natural weight

2.) you are attempting to drain your opponent to gain an unfair advantage

Pacquiao tried to drain Cotto, because Manny had already fought at 147.

The 143lb demand was an absolute joke, they really tried to do a number on Cotto. Just because the bullet missed, does not lessen the intent.

Shame on 27% for cheating history, not once, but twice, because he did the same thing to Margarito..... Emmanuel Steward was correct when he said that Pacquiao is a cherry-picker who does not compare with truly great fighters.

What a lame b1tch that 27% kid turned out to be.

    Antonio Margarito

Recently, we had Saul Alvarez fighting Matthew Hatton for the vacant WBC JMW title. Now, as many of you may be aware, the fact that a title was on the line for that fight, is an absolute fkn joke.

    * that fight was for a vacant title
    * one competitor was not a JMW, nor was he ranked at welter
    * the other guy was not much more than a prospect
    * that fight was held at a catchweight
    * one competitor failed to make weight

Funny thing is, when that fight was first announced, it was not a title fight.

The WBC title, was an " after-thought ".

All-in-all, a pretty disgusting turn of events.

Anyways, what amused me after that fight, were the many Pacquiao fans who chose to toast Canelo because they considered him to be a worthless paper champ, who just got handed a worthless paper title.

Hmmm..... anyone see where I am going with this ?

Here are the facts regarding the Margarito vs Pacquiao fight.....

    * that fight was for a vacant JMW title
    * neither of the competitor's were a JMW
    * that fight was held at catchweight
    * one of the competitors could not even have beaten any of the top welter's
    * neither of the competitors could beat any of the top JMW's

So, Canelo is a bum, but 27% is an 8-division titlist? WTF?

I am absolutely positive that the only sort of person who could come to that conclusion, would be a pig-ignorant, non-boxing, fan-boy.

" oh, but what about Floyd, he never defended his title..... "

FACT: Mayflower fought a genuine JMW
FACT: Mayflower fought a genuine champion
FACT: Mayflower fought at the divisional limit
FACT: 27% did none of those things

The Margarito vs Pacquiao fight was for a vacant title, it was fought at catchweight, 27% did not fight a JMW, he did not fight a champion, and he used 8oz gloves.

All-in-all, that is AT LEAST as bad as the Canelo fight, worse in my opinion.

    Why ?

Because, Canelo intends to defend, and 27% NEVER intended to fight a genuine JMW..... EVER!!

Well before that fight even took place, Team Pacquiao publicly stated that Manny will not defend his title, and that he will never fight a genuine JMW.....
    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/10...-pacman-fights

27% never intended to fight a genuine JMW, he just wanted to cheat history by stealing a worthless paper title.

    How fkn lame is that?

Go figure, what a cherry-picking b1tch ol' 27% turned out to be.

I am guessing that 27%'s anus shriveled up like a year-old prune when Sergio Martinez called him out. " no speak engrish "

You're still making stuff up. The context that Freddie told Shane to fight at 143 (Feb 08) was before Manny was ready to move up to 147 full time. Manny weighed in at 144.5 to fight Margs at 150, so you really are saying a guy that never weighed above 146 for a fight is ducking guys a 154????? Then you say he ducked Marquez a guy he fought twice.... I would call you a ****** but that would be insulting to ******s. You are just a *****. I quit you are hopeless, go beat your Baby Moma like your hero. I'm out, I'll give you the last word... BTW, nothing personal (the name calling) I'm from the hood and that's how we talk when we talking bout sports. Later Bro

        hes not even a "*****".

The sole purpose of his existence is to hate pacquiao and grasp at anything he possibly could to discredit him.

I think he really needs help though, i wont argue with that.

You are full-of-it, and so is Manny Pacquiao, he never intended to defend, or to fight a genuine JMW.....
            http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/10...-pacman-fights

And yes, he CLEARLY ducked Marquez at 130. Name another fight in the last 5 years more worthy of a rematch? I am sure that you can name at least one, but you get my point. If ever an IMMEDIATE rematch was required, it was then.

"I advised Manny to forget about a rematch because Marquez has Manny's number" ~ Michael Koncz.

And explain the Mosley fiasco to me then

FACT: Pacquiao ducked Mosley TWICE, back when Shane was ranked the #1 welter and was still regarded as dangerous. But as soon as Shane gets exposed by Mayweather and uglied by Mora, and it becomes plainly obvious that Mosley can no longer pull the trigger, then suddenly Pac wants to fight him

It dont take a genius to see whats up there, Bruce Trampler, earning his money. Bruce Trampler takes bigger risks than Pacquiao
