Despaigne not only was faking the 'injuries', he actually worked on this tactic in the gym! This comes from a very reliable source. I don't doubt it. I think it backfired since the DQ win did nothing for him.

Not sure what fight you were watching nycsmooth, but I saw it completley differently. Miranda was just starting to come on strong and his body work was slowing down Despainge. ****, if Despainge couldnt hurt Miranda with 8 free shots to his head than I am not sure he was going to be able to do anything to slow Miranda down.

As far as Miranda's career goes, he is at a very low point right now. Sure he can revive it, but it will take more than this one win against Despaigne. He will have to upset some top 5 fighter and than do the same in against a belt holder. It is a long road, but no doubt if he gets in with the right opponent and pulls of 1-2 good wins after Despainge he could have yet another life.

Before Feb rematch they both are fighting on the Ward/Froch undercard to keep busy.

What are the chances of Miranda coming to Denmark to face Rudy Markussen or comebacking Mads Larsen?

Miranda - Markussen would be BOMBS AWAY!

Chances would be very good if the offer was right. Miranda has probably a bigger name overseas than he does in America. After the Abraham fight he gained a lot of support. Either fight would probably draw a decent crowd in Denmark and a good enough viewing tv audience to bring in enough money to the table to have Miranda make the trip. Talk to your contacts and make it happen! It'll give me an excuse to spend a week in Denmark!

I sure'd like to see him over here.

Do you think Miranda can get some yank TV-maney?

After a Despainge win (maybe a Banks kind of KO) it may be possible. Right now HBO/SHO have no interest. He needs to rebuild with a few names and get the hype going again. It is not typical for USA TV to televise a Euro fight unless it is a pretty big one. There might be a better chance doing a PPV through internet broadcast.
