    Mayweather-Alvarez in May 2013???

This fight will happen at some point, at 154 pounds. Both are GBP and there is just so much money there for this fight. I honestly think the PPV's would be over 1.5 million. The question is...would Alvarez deserve a shot at Mayweather in early 2013???

If Alvarez beats Cintron this year, he will get bigger and better fights in 2012.

If he were to fight Cotto, Angulo-Kirkland winner, Martirosyan, Lara, Trout, or a combination of a couple of these fighters and IF he were to win those fights...would he deserve a shot at Mayweather in May 2013???

Hopefully no one would waste their money on a Mayweather/Alvarez PPV; Canelo is no where near being ready for Floyd but on another note a good fight for Canelo in 2013 would be Miguel Cotto for a unification showdown.

Alvarez is no match for Floyd at any weight. He's just not fundamentally sound enough to even put up a fight. There's a reason why boxers like Andre Ward, and Floyd Mayweather are so good: They have VAST amateur experience!

And a TRUE boxing fan (and not some ******* off the street) knows that THIS is what sets apart the men from the boys in the big leagues!

No......it will not. Anyone with an OUNCE of boxing knowledge knows this would be a mismatch, and a lop-sided beatdown.

Not saying it wouldn't b e dominated by Mayweather, but I would bet on this fight happening in 2013. Alvarez will be 2 years older, and Mayweather will be as well.

Also, the original question was...if Alvarez beats say Cotto, Angulo, and Trout/Lara...would he deserve a shot at Mayweather in Spring 2013???

I think he would. People don't buy into Alvarez yet, and rightfully so. He hasn't really beaten anyone good yet, and a faded Cintron is his toughest challenge yet. But, the kid says he wants Cotto next. Also, he will have to face the Kirkland-Angulo winner at some point next year. If he beats Cotto and Angulo, I think people will start to buy into him. I don't buy him yet. Gomez made him look very ordinary in the first few rounds of that fight, and Gomez isn't even that good. However, he adjusted and ended up getting the better of Gomez clearly.

Why doesn't Cotto want to fight Alvarez??? The money is there and Alvarez is an unbeaten young champion. Cotto needs to step up and fight Alvarez after Margarito.

No, not really. I think Khan is first, then Berto (if he beats Ortiz), and the other two could be Martinez, Pac, Canelo or somebody else.
