If the Japanese guy wins would they pull an Ishida?

Also, does anybody knows what happened to Ishida?

Did GBP kidnapped him or something?

What are you talking about? Austin is from New Mexico (The United States), not Australia. Also, if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that Trout tried to get a fight against Pawel Wolak, Delvin Rodriguez, and Saul Alvarez for his first American debut fight. HBO lost some money and wasn't able to come through with the televised fight (the same reason why they are making Hopkins a PPV fight). If anything, he wants to fight whoever wins the Cotto fight, but Bob Arum has been running Austin around in circles for almost 2 years now and is still trying to find reasons not to make the fight happen.

As for the actual fight coming up, Austin just wanted to get in the ring with somebody asap. The deal with Mundine did not go through, Lara's team never made a real offer, Canelo's team wanted a 80/20 split, and Cotto just didn't seem realistic. The quick televised fight is mainly being used to get the exposure needed to request more during negotiations. Another example is when Austin Trout was in negotiations with Paul Williams and they wanted a 70/30 split, even though Trout was the one with the belt.

According to Steve Kim, Ishida was supposed to be a potential opponent Trout.

HEy ude your so right, Idk why I think i was thinkin o Mundine, eventhough Mundine is lighter ...lol.. Trout was in Olympic trials too... Arum is always going to just care about his top 3 to 5 cash cow machines and now with Bradley in the mix too... BUt cmon Trout can find at least a top 10 guy to fight than this Japanese guy, until he does though he's not gna get the respect from critics or fans...Cmon having a belt these days really doesn't matter, your tellin me ALvarez and Jr aren't paper champs.. They both have belts.. So does K9, the only true 154 champ in my eyes is Cotto... The one who has fought the elite out there...These days whoever is a big money maker for there promoters somehow someway will get a belt, especially in the WBC as long as Sulaiman is involved... BUt lets see what will happen after the Japanese guy...

I honestly don't like the opponent myself. At first the problem Austin was having was with his promotional team. Now his promotional team is getting him the TV dates and his manager is getting greedy. Trout was offered the opportunity to fight Canelo, and he wanted the fight. It was only turned down because his manager wanted a 50/50 split...when I seen this news today about who Trout would be fighting, I was disappointed. He should have taken the 70/30 split. The fight would have had more coverage and would have allowed him to unify titles, not to mention, beating Canelo would have done much more for his career than a win over the Japanese boxer.
