James Toney does not rep you, whatsoever. Aren't you a white kid from the burbs? If Toney weren't a world class athlete, and you were lost in the hood, he'd rob, **** and murder you.

Really kinda surprised people give Toney a chance here. He is 43 and hasn't fought as a cruiserweight in eight years. Yes he was super talented and has a great chin, but he is long past it and Lebedev is a beast. If it goes the distance, there is going to be a lot of sloppy **** and holding.
Lebedev needs a Huck rematch next.

Toney is the last old school fighter. I hope he wins this. Im lookung forward to this fight. The biggest opponent of Toney is himself, his lack of dedication and weight issues. He said if he had the disciplin and dedication of Bernard Hopkins he would be the GOAT and it could be true actually. But who has the discipline and dedication of Bernard Hopkins? Close to none!

Take robbery and murder off the menu and Check would be in heaven.

Toney just wants to retire and permanently tour all the fried food eateries from Man vs Food. I think Denis will grant him his wish by brutal late KO.

LOL shut up bia. Yeah, I'm from the burbs but I root for all Michigan fighters just like majority of posters root for their countrymen. You certainly haven't been to many ******s though. No, I'm not claiming to be a thug and know that lifestyle but I myself was born and raised in a very poor city like James. My family sc****d like a lot of families in America to give their children a better life and that is what James has done also. From the ****** to a world class athlete that made better for himself. If you can't respect James Toney, you can't respect the American way. Take that hater mentality of "if you ain't black, or dirt poor you don't know anything" and scrap it.

Check is a self-loathing white guy.

Toney didn't grow up poor, but he had some real childhood trauma. It's touched upon in the book Dark Trade (perhaps my favorite boxing book ever). James's father shot James's mother, left her to die, and then abandoned the family. So obviously, Toney hated his father.

James's father later went to prison for ****.

In my attempt at playing armchair psychologist, I get the impression that Toney was more genuinely angry when he was younger. Now, some of it seems to be for show, or just a way to psyche himself up.

Toney is dropping a LOT of weight here.

Judging by the way some older fighters like Chris Byrd, Oscar De La Hoya and Ray Leonard have performed after dropping weight, I can see Toney looking really terrible in there and possibly getting stopped for the first time.
