I don't think it's possible to cherry pick a very styilistically challenging Chad Dawson. If anything, ppl might want to consider accusing Hopkins of only taking this fight b/c he was in a sort of check mate. Almost as though he had to take this fight after the Pascal fight.. But the reality is he's taking on stiff challenges right now.

hopkins is counting heavily on facing the chad dawson that lost to pascal...he definitely found a way to sidestep the dawson that fought adamek, tarver, and johnson, without looking like he was blatently ducking him...hopkins was also contractually obligated to face dawson after pascal 2...

The title is very misleading. I hate when they do that (put words in a fighters mouth that they never said). Ups the amount of "clicks" I supposed.

Anyways, Hopkins has grown into 175, against pascal he rehydrated to 186 so I think he understands when he's 47 it's probably not a good idea to drop down in weight at all.

Martinez has no desire to go to 168 or 170 or 175 so this should just settle any talk about this. Larry Merchant brought it up, a few fans talked about it, and now it should be crystal clear it's an impossible fantasy fight.

you know what, hopkins has self-respect. if anyone wants to fight him they have to move up. I wish sergio had that same kind of self-respect and said "fight me at MW or go to hell".
