Shane Mosley.......Is he finished as a top fighter?

What do you guys think, can he once again be a top fighter like he was a few years ago or is he finished.

If you look at his stats, he has has lost 4 of his past 8 fights. His win over DLH was contriversial ( I had DLH winning 7-5, but thats another thread) and has a NC with Marquez. For a guy with a 85% KO ratio, he hasn't KO'd anyone since 2001, nearly 5 years ago.

Is he done, or is it the fact that he went too high in weight and now will be better at 147?

i really hope he goes back to being the great fighter he once was.

But having seen his last performance....i dont think its gonna happen. I guess time took its toll....(or the rumours of coming off steroids)

I don't think that Shane will be a top fighter again. While watching his last two fights I kept thinking, "What the hell is he doing?"

i don't think he's done, and he's fighting another fighter whose supposed to be "done" in vargas so i think it will be interesting to see who wins this fight

To be fair to Mosley, every fighter has a achilles heel. Tito with top class boxers (Winky, BHop, Oscar), Tszyu against strong pressure fighters (Phillips and Hatton), Norton with big hitters (Shavers, Cooney), Ali against left hookers (Frazier, Cooper) etc.

Mosley has always had a problem with tall fighters with a jab (Winky, Forrest and DLH in the 2nd fight when he decided to use his height). So going down to 147 may help him because he will deal with shorter fighters, although he is fighting a naturally bigger Vargas next.

He has all the physical tools still, if you realised he still get them fast hands, just needs a lot of time to put his **** together which is a mental problem.

                He needs punches in bunches.

I think Mosley had a natural size advantage at lightweight and when he started coming up in weight this advantage disappeared. He was a different fighter at lightweight and the move to super welter just did him in. He is still good though, but he will never be great.

i agree he left most of his power at lightweight which is part of his problems now he is still trying to get kos at the higher weights and is not really using any of his other skills ...also he lacks confidence and boxing is 90% mental he gets real dicouraged during fights when things are not going his way but i don't think he is shot he had the 2 loses to winky but alot of guys will get beat by winky right now .........he still has alot of tools i think he beats vargas by ud i think vargas is more shot than mosley he has just looked horrible in all his fights since coming back ...
