    Rewatching Haye-Klitschko

Thought I'd give it a watch because I saw it on Sky and wanted to see it with HBO commentary.

    Anyway, the point:

I'm up to the start of Round 5 and can already count several massive right hands from Haye which missed by centimetres (as well as some that missed by miles, obviously)...

If Haye was even the tiniest bit quicker, these shots could have landed and we could've had a different fight.

I was embarassed for Haye when he pulled his toe out after the fight - really pathetic stuff - but is it possible the broken toe robbed Haye of the split second he needed to land on Wlad's chin?

For all the talk of Haye running, at the end of the 5th Emmanuel Steward urged Wlad to stop jumping backwards as soon as Haye comes towards him. The lack of engagement was a two-way street.

    A rematch would interest me.

Although Haye but on a bad show, I've always thought he didn't do as bad as people on here seems to think. According to compubox, he even outlanded Wlad in terms of power punches.

Don't get me wrong, Wlad won a clear decision. But pretty much every round was somewhat close.

I'd rather see Haye fight someone else then Wlad, although I wouldn't mind a rematch.

Why are you rewatching a klitschko fight? Are you having problems sleeping?

Jones: "He's not wasting any punches"

        Merchant: "He's wasting my time"

Haye's plan is pretty obvious: land a single big shot then jump all over him to get the stoppage. Same as he did to Maccarinelli, same as he did to Audley. Why anyone was surprised he wasn't trading left hooks is beyond me.

A poor performance, but he cut Wlad, he stunned him, he landed punches and he didn't become #50. He managed to take the jab away for long periods(the stats through Round 7 even had Haye at a higher connect % with the jab than Wlad!). He took a few shots that nobody believed he could. He wasn't good but he certainly wasn't the disgrace he's being painted as.

Nah, he was horrible. That's the post fight rewatch syndrome where the fight completely changes and the video changes the footage and plays with your mind. It's happened to me quite a few times.

He for whatever reason only performed at 80% at best, so a rematch would be more interesting than many would think. People are dead against it for the hype, let down and excuse though, so we'll never see it.

IF he can land a few on Vitali, makes no difference, he'd get a beat down in that one.

I agree with you guys! hayes performance wasnt that bad to be honest!
What angers me that he could have done so much more to wladimir if he would have the right mindset that day!

For haye it has worked so far to look for that one big right hand that mostly finish his fights! Haye is very very good at finding openings and take advantage of the other guys mistake! he landed a few rights on wladimir who had a nearly flawless brilliant performance defensive wise! but offensive wise this fight was a draw to me! both should have taken way more risk! Especially from haye i expected way more! he should have went all out even if he would have gotten knocked out! hayes tactics were all wrong but i dont write him off like most guys!

I would love haye to see a rematch with wladimir or a fight with vitali!
Lets face it haye is still the biggest danger to the klitschkos!
Helenius is the only other guy i would be really interested to see against klitschkos! there are some young guys coming up but i really dont think they will reach klitschkos level at all!

                Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye

                THE FACTS

Haye was scared shitless. He was afraid to engage with Wlad. He was in survival mode from start to finish. He was running like a scared girl from Wlad the whole fight, flopping and taking knees.

                Wlad dominated the fight.

                Wlad won every round.

Wlad was the aggressor from start to finish. He was the pressure fighter and was coming forward the entire fight.

                Wlad boxed beautifully.

Wlad made Haye look like an amatuer.

Wlad threw twice as many punches as Haye.

Wlad landed twice as many punches as Haye.

Wlad outlanded Haye in every round.

Wlad hurt Haye several times and made him spend the entire fight in survival mode running for his life, flopping and taking knees.

Haye was totally outclassed, schooled, beaten up, exposed, dominated and humiliated by Wlad.

                I scored it a shutout 119-107

Another masterful dominant win for Wlad.

The little pinky toe was the weakest excuse of all time.

Diva "Excusemaker" Gaye is a joke and a disgrace to boxing.

Haye = one big lunging right hand + crossed fingers.

                  Not interested.

Even Bruno had more boxing skills and heart than Haye.

I just want Vitali to murder him.

Both fighters looked bad in this fight. Haye was horrendous, and Wlad looked clueless on how to stop Haye from running.
