I'm still in Pavlik's corner, though. . . He has given us boxing fans good memories with his fights against Taylor; and while on the losing end - he gave Hopkins at shot, fought him at 170. . . and fought sergio - IMO showed a blueprint on how to beat sergio too. .
I agree Pavlik messed up big time but you don't take a fighter fresh out of a long rehab stint on a major network that fast or else your asking for trouble. Look at what happened to Oliver Mcall in the rematch w/ Lennox Lewis, dude was crying in the ring from an ass whipping and couldn't compete.

Hopefully he can get himself together and make one last run and leave the game on top. I think a tune up bout against Andrade makes sense followed buy a fight against Froch or Kessler.

He is way to slow to compete at 168 those guys at that weight would beat him easy. I would like to see him fight at 174 better.

I really hope to see Pavlik back on the right track! I'm still a fan.

I like Pavlik, but he is going to be exposed at SMW. He needs to stick with his original plan of last year..... hire a strength and conditioning coach, and focus on middleweight.

If I was Pavlik, and I was offered 10k for a fight, I would be dumping the ****...... Kelly has not fallen that far, to suggest that he now have to work his way up from the very bottom, is ridiculous.

If a particular promoter does not have enough faith in Kelly to commit to him, or, he does not feel that Pavlik has made the necessary changes/commitments himself..... then he should move on, but forget the 10k per fight bull****.

Either Pavlik has made the necessary changes and is ready to focus on boxing, or he has not..... but in either of those situations, 10k is a joke.

You either pay him nothing and move on, or you pay him what he is worth.

In life, you get what you pay for.....

Kelly should agree to a comeback vs some club fighter, with no more than a 2-week camp.

That is all you can expect for 10k, from an ex lineal champ who has only been beaten by an ATG and a guy who is probably at least the second best P4P fighter in the world.

I think that Dunkin's commitment to Pavlik is no more than "I will pay you next-to-nothing, and lets see where things go from here".

Kelly does have a lot to prove, and he does have to redeem himself, but if he is serious about his commitment to boxing, then he should be reimbursed accordingly.

It will be interesting to see if showtime or hbo will televise any of his fights after what happened in august.

Atta boy Kelly...I hope he comes back, and comes back strong. We all make mistakes, some of you folks should look in the mirror before you judge somebody.

Pavlik won't get back to the top
he might still make some exciting fights at 168
don't even think he could beat Bute
he squandered his momentum too bad to reup

He needs to get his mojo back, and like you said, there is no future for him at 168. He sought expert advice from a dietician who informed him that he can make 160 without killing himself if he hires a strength and conditioning coach. Kelly needs to rematch Martinez and look at becoming the kingpin at MW again.
