Comments Thread For: Arthur Abraham Eyes December Bout, Talks 160 Return

Former middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26KOs) is planning out the future of his career. King Arthur was undefeated and feared for many years at 160-pounds, but his lack of size was clearly exposed when he moved up to 168-pounds to participate in the Super Six tournament. Abraham is 2-3 in his last five fights, all at 168, and now he plans to slowly move back to the middleweight ranks.

    Limited fighter

More than a weight or size issue, Abraham showed that he is a limited fighter solely relying on punching power. Slow, predictable and incapable of any adjustment/creativity during a fight.

Spot on about AA, green sent.

Abe has never shown any indication that he is a world class talent at any weight but he would always have that hammer to get him out of a deep hole if he can land.

As a middleweight, Abraham was able to bully his opponents around the ring, because he was a strong, solid middleweight, but everyone at super-middleweight was 6' and over. It was comparable to Ricky Hatton moving up to welterweight.

Bout with Proksa would be interesting. Unfortunately, not much to gain for Abraham and too much to lose...

Nah, abraham even said it himself. he needs a few more fights before he gets a shot. right now, he's just a name. has shown that he can't be people with more skills then a miranda, marquez, Ikeke, etc. b/c that's all he was beating before the tournament. oh, and a shot, lacking in confidence taylor ...

marquez would stick and move on this guy ... he needs some confidence first!

AA would walk through him easy. Styles make fights. AA vs Kirkland or Lemieux. I say Sturm beats him at this point. Why not AA vs Chavez jr?
