Pirog is a decent fighter but Sergio isn't Jacobs. I would like to see Barker vs Lee, Pirog vs Quillin, and Martinez vs Sturm.

G-Rus. . . I agree, Vitali definitely wasn't "robbed", because the fight was a justifiable stoppage - the cuts looked pretty damn bad. . . But you can't say that Lewis shouldn't have granted a rematch, especially the way he acted about it post-fight - like he "destroyed" vitali and like vitali was "just another challenger". . . I just HATE when fights are stopped on cuts. . . ESPECIALLY when it's a DAMN GOOD fight, and the other fighter was actually winning the fight. . . I guess it's just me being a hardcore boxing fan - I just think Vitali was ROBBED of a rightful rematch, and the fans were robbed of possibly the best HW fight in a HOT MINUTE. . . .

WInning on cuts is definitely not the same as winning by knocking your opponent out, or winning a fair decision. . . To me, there is no TRUE WINNER between the two, and there will always be unfinished business. . . . forever the debate will rage on "who is better in a head to head matchup"?

Not really sure why Martinez hasn't fought Pirog!

I believed this is the only significant fight at 160 lb...
I'm sure boxing fans agree with me!

Martinez waiting to fight little guys?
            Dude you're better than that!

It seemed a bit discouraging to not even mention Pirog's name in the post fight press conference of Martinez. Pirog went all the way from Russia just one week after fighting himself and just a few people from the media paid attention.

Whatever people think whether Pirog earned a shot or not, I guess the proposal to let him fight on the undercard of Martinez fight makes a lot of sense to me. On the one side he gets US exposure and on the other side people of the media, HBO and promoters have a direct comparison of the fighters. Then maybe it can be determined, whether Pirog should fight Martinez later in the summer next year or not. Let Pirog fight a name opponent on Sergio's undercard and things will hopefully heat up to the poiunt, a unification fight can't be avoided. Gaele, as reported would be nice, but others like Quillin or Rubio would also do.

Pirog is not clearly better than the other Middleweight contenders. His performance against Maciel was disappointing and beating up on Martiryosan doesn't prove that much to me. N'Jikam did the same a few years ago.

Pirog is worthy of a shot if Barker was, but then so are a lot of other top MWs. So if he fights one of them don't cry if is isn't Pirog.

                      Why not a Pirog-N'Jikam fight, a Pirog-Golovkin fight, or a Pirog-Proksa fight?
