Back problem or no back problem Tyson wouldn't have ruled a thing. If you are losing to guy like Kevin McBride you are finished.

Tysons problems in the ring started way before his back trouble.
Cus died, Tyson left Rooney and his skills began to deteriorate at that point. Add in his time sitting dormant in a prison cell and that equals trouble.
Since returning to the ring from prison Tyson has been nothing near his old dominating ways. Today, Tyson is all hooks and rights hands while rushing in on his opponent. Gone are the days of the head movement and pounding jabs. Now its rush in with wide shots in hopes of knocking his opponent cold.
His back trouble is just the tailend of the rollercoaster ride known as Mike Tyson. I loved him back in the day but that fighter is gone. With age and bad training habits Tyson has become the journeyman that the unknowledgable boxing fan will still pay to see on pay per view.
Today, Tyson is the Primo Carnerra of the 2000's. A show sold on hype and a grand facade rather than skill and determination. Ofcourse, Tyson does differ in the fact that in his day he was a great fighter. However, with his skill level drastically reduced and his heart barried somewhere in the lost love cemetary Tyson is damaged goods.
Yet, because of his stature with the unknowing general public, Tyson is still able to generate millions for a single fight. With Tysons debt and financial situation it is his only way to survive. The question is, how long can Tyson keep the general public believing in him and his eroded skills.
Rockin'
