That said, no offense to the Gamboa fans but this dude is STILL a knockout waiting to happen I still maintain that it will only be a matter of time we’ll be talking about Gamboa the same way we are talking about Juanma right now. He’s next on the “should have, would have, but couldn’t” list!
I love Gamboa, but I think you have a point. I've seen him take some big shots, and if he gets in there with the right puncher or gets hit right, it's lights out. This will happen eventually. The difference is that Gamboa has alot more natural talent than Juanma.

gamboa has a better defense than juanma, plus he has better footwork. gamboa doesn't stand and trade with his opponents he is an ambush fighter. that being said if the two ever fought I believe that gamboa's hand-speed would be too much for juanma.

Im pretty much repeating myself from last nights thread.

If Juanma want to be champ again, he needs to change his team. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what he is doing wrong. Either they are trying to make the adjusments and Juanma just isnt listening or they are just plain ignorant and are just in his corner enjoying the ride. Either way, the JUANMA that fought last night would get KO'd again by Salido in about round 6 and deffinately won't pass 3 rounds with Gamboa.

Also, all this talk about weight being an issue and ready to go to 130 but the man weighs in at 124 at the weigh in. WTF was that? I dont think this guy has been having great training camps and somewhere along the lines over the past couple of years the hungry JUANMA from 122 has disappeared.

Who knows, maybe the writing is on the wall for Juanma... He definitely was getting tagged in there against Oliver

I remember first seeing him, I want to say, like 5 years ago on the undercard of the Pacquiao-Morales rematch... I thought he was really robotic at the time and didn't understand the buzz on him... But then he seemed to be coming along and really delivered when he scorched Ponce De Leon in a round

He looked horrible late agianst Mtagwa but his people said it was because he was struggling to make weight... He obviously has a lot on the line against Salido and it look like a 50-50 fight at this point

since Juanma's fight against Penalosa I've been saying his defense sucks and he wasn't going to stay undefeated for long. He has Great power and work rate but he gets tagged way too much when trying to knock his opponent's head off. He's no Tito Trinidad.

Juanma needs to use the jab more and box, not just go out there and throw power punches hoping to get a KO. If Juanma uses the jab more and boxes vs Gamboa he will win. He's gotta let the KO's come to him not go out there all wild looking for it while leavin his head wide open. I do agree that he needs a new camp.

Este cabron arrogante aburre. La quijada tiene un contrato con la derecha. Hasta por telégrafo le llegan.

I used to think he would beat Gamboa. But I was a moron. This kid needs to STFU, get a new corner and learn some D. Mofo talks to much too. Needs to be humbled again.

Gamboa is still hitting his potential while Juanma seems to have hit his ceiling, too many defensive flaws bro. Gamboa beat Salido and has the potential to run circles around Juanma and Gonzales.
I agree with this post. Gamboa beat them more impresive(expt)De Leon, but JuanMa got em at at better stage. I happen to be one of only two family members that always said Gamboa takes down JuanMa, but theres a possibility that JuanMa catches his chin and takes Gamboa down. Don't get all crazy on me I said its possible. JuanMa still has the heavier hands in the division.
