    What now for Rafa?

Where does he go from here? I think it was a bad decision to go back to 122, it obviously isn't his best weight anymore. He should go back to 126 and try to get one more big fight against someone like Salido, Juanma or someone like that and then retire.

Great performance last night by Nishioka, and Rafa Marquez didn't look bad in his loss. He just didn't have the speed

Maybe youre right, he doesn't look as sharp anymore. No wonder, since all the battles with Vazquez have slowed him down, but I think against a less fast opponent he can still do well. Problem is that Nishioka is really fast and agile. Even tho hes only a year younger.

First of all Marquez isn't a FW and only went up there for Vazquez 4 fight, which then lead to a Lopez payday.

Also Nishioka is a great fighter and clearly the best SuperBantamweight, so no shame in losing to him.

As far as Marquez, there are a ton of great/winnable fights left for him. I think the best is to face Vic Darchinyan at 122, a fight Shaw has been wanting to make for a while.

Then there is also a Fernando Montiel fight that would do great numbers in Mexico, along with bouts against Arce, Donaire, or even Mijares.

I think his balance was off and he lacked some of the old fire, he can still operate well at world level but when uve been to the summit is operating fairly well at world level enough? Id advise retirement unless he needs the money, i say that as there are still money fights out there for him.
Nishioka just does nothing for me, he is good but nothing special at all imo, a few years ago Marquez gets him outta there

Rafa is done. That was evident in the JuanMa loss. His fists were taking over the bout in approx. the 4th but his legs couldn't keep up. He's done-- but he's a name and can make a little cash.

I think retirement might be best for him.

He clearly has lost a step which is no surprise considering the wars he's been in.

He's basically a name now so he will continue to get fights, but for his health i think he should call it a day.
