Martin has no KO power and just lost to a Journeyman who has 21 losses in his Top Rank Debut. I you look at Martin's competition it's full of guys with over 10 losses. His record is padded like a Victoria Secret push up bra. The kid was never that good.

Chargin built him up good. I'm surprised that Arum saw something in Martin who had not really proven his skill against anybody.

Weird that his career seemed to have peaked with the Avalos fight. I admit, I thought he was the surprise prospect of 2010, not unlike Antwone Smith's run a year prior, but he hasn't looked anywhere near as good since then. I'm also surprised Arum signed him.

That said, I take issue with Chargin's claim that he "kept him away from aggressive guys." Martin feasted on those very fighters for much of his young career.

Martin should've won this fight, and didn't. That's really all that happened last night. Not a sign of things to come, that all you have to do is come forward and you'll beat him. Up until last night, he feasted on such fighters.

I don't blame Chargin for being pissed that he lost Martin AND Mercito Gesta to Top Rank within the span of a couple of months. He did well in building them up and I never saw TR being able to do more with them. But with that in mind, the comment made sounds a bit like sour g****s.
