Cotto Stops Martinez

After last night I think it is safe to say that more people think Cotto could be competitive against Sergio than was the case before, especially if the fight is at a catch weight maybe at 156 or so.

Darren Barker for sure was better than most including myself thought but not that much better. Sergio is a really good fighter but he has climbed to the top off of victories that should b taken for what they were. The Pavlik fight, how long had Pavlik been out and the guy was obviously struggling with alcohol at that point. The Williams fight, Williams was looking not good against Cintron and Sergio captilized on a punch that Williams has shown unable to get out of the way of with every Southpaw he has faced. Sergio has shown some vulnerability, I think it would be a great fight but the problem is Martinez still isn't a big enough name to compete against Cotto's other options, if he wins vs Margarito.

Personally I think Margarito should have taken a fight with Martinez, he may have the style and skillset to beat the Argentinian.

I like this fight for Margarito. I think he can beat him again. I think Cotto can beat him too. Martinez is overrated.

Cotto's body punches is overrated man, where was it against Clottey, Margarito, Pacquiao, right now he's practically one handed, hardly throws a right, decent defense at best, the hell would Miguel do?

Sergio Martinez does have serious flaws, but Cotto ain't good enough to exploit them, and that's obvious to see too.

Barker fought a smart fight. He used his reach well, and threw fast shots at the right time.

Cotto is too small, and Sergio would counter him all night.

Margrito could apply real pressure all night, but again Sergio slips away and counters to a UD.

Cotto - Martinez at 154 would be highly competitive.

Both fighters don't have the best defence and both are very accurate punchers with good power so it would exciting.

I think Martinez stops Cotto late. Martinez is faster, bigger, stronger and would take Cotto's shots better than Cotto could take his shots so as it progressed Cotto would slow down and eventually get stopped.
