MGM Grand, Las Vegas - A rowdy crowd of Mexican and Japanese fight fans saw Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24KOs) retain the WBC super bantamweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over former two-division beltholder Rafael Marquez (40-7, 36KOs). The scores were 117-111, 116-112, 115-113.

Hey buddy howya been? we don't exactly know when was nishioka's prime. He was faster when he was young but, alot more technically sound and had a better Ring IQ when he got older. Yoshihiro Kamegai, KO'd his opponent in 6. Was disappointed when I hear Soto-Karass pulled out.

Nice call on the fight brah. Brilliant performance in a almost every way (and I've SEEN the Sahaprom fights). Donaire is probably too much for him but it would be intriguing.

Over the past few years, I'd say he's hit he's peak and is fighting at a such a level, but Marquez at 118 WAS the better fighter and I believe that to be the case at 122, despite what his record might say.

Plus, the Marquez brothers always seem to do very well against southpaws, that's just something I can't overlook.
