Comments Thread For: Grzegorz Proksa Dominates and Stops Sylvester

Jahnsportforum, Neubrandenburg, Germany - Grzegorz Proska (26-0, 19KOs) became a star with a third round stoppage of former IBF champion Sebastian Sylvester (34-5-1, 16KOs) to capture the vacant EBU middleweight title. After dominating the first round with his very quick hands, a bad cut opened up above the right eye of Sylvester. Sylvester was very sluggish and the cut was bleeding like a river. After takinga pounding in the third round, Sylvester's corner had seen enough and told the referee to stop the contest.

That Polish guy reminded me of the Prince by the way he fought. He was fast, awkward fighting with his hands down and throwing punches from awkward angles. It was a beating of a once world class fighter who looked his age. I want to see that dude fight in the US, he was fast!!

He has a style very similar to Sergio Martinez. I wasn't expecting this, Sylvester is not a great boxer but he isn't so bad actually, and Proska completely destroyed him today.

Proksa was superb tonight, made Sylvester look very ordinary. I want to see this man fight again!

Im sure Sauerland wouldnt made this match up if they knew Proksa is that good! But i guess nobody knew it because of the weak opposition he faced so far. I expected a close 12 round battle. But it looks we have a new serious middleweight fighter!

Sylvester never was a world class fighter! And hes not that old either. He was just Sylvester and Proksa showed hes much more than that.
