Is Pacquiao avoiding Mayweather and Martinez???

It looks like Timothy Bradley will be next after 38 year old, past his prime, Juan Manuel Marquez. Don't get me wrong, I like the pick. Bradley is unbeaten, in his prime, and arguably the best 140 lb fighter in the world. However, I wonder if people will criticize Manny for fighting a Super Lightweight coming up to Welterweight, just as they did when Mayweather beat the undefeated Ricky Hatton. Hatton and Bradley are about equal in my opinion, with Bradley moving more and boxing, while Hatton is a come forward and extremely agressive fighter.

It will be the first time Manny has fought someone in their prime since he beat Jorge Solis (who's nowhere near as good as Bradley) way back in 2007. I am happy that Pacquiao is finally picking an opponent that is coming off wins as well, and not losses and bad performances. Lets face it....De La Hoya (way gone, drained, already beaten by Floyd), Hatton (already beaten by Floyd, coming off bad performances), Cotto (coming off getting knocked out by Margarito and not prime anymore), Clottey (hadn't won in 2 years), Margarito (coming off getting KO'd by Mosley), Mosley (already beaten by Floyd and coming off a bad performance), and Marquez (already beaten by Floyd at 144)....they were all crap choices. Cotto was an alright choice but that's it. This will be his best opponent since either Marquez in 08' or Morales in 05' BY FAR.

However, he's already got these plans in place, even before his fight with Marquez??? Martinez recently said he'd drop to 150 to fight Pacquiao (which is what Pacquiao and Arum asked for), but I would rather not see Sergio drop that low. Also, Floyd is coming off a one-sided win over a prime Ortiz, and certainly needs another fight after this fall. Why make plans before your fight with Marquez has already happened????? Event hough Mayweather is talking about a fight with Khan, he hasn't indicated it will be his next fight, and neither has Golden Boy.

Do you think if it's true that Pacquiao has already been lined up to fight Bradley in May 2012 (his next fight), that he sort of avoiding a fight with Martinez and Mayweather???

Would any haters give Pac any credit for beating Sergio at 150?

Would he make more money fighting him than someone else?

That’s only after Sergio was barking for a fight with Pac and not the other way around, I guess Amir Khan is ducking Hopkins too if that’s the case…

Arum, Roach, and Manny said they would only fight Sergio at 150. Last week, Sergio said he would fight him at 150. I would rather not see it happen, because I would only like to see him go down as far as 154 (which is very realistic). I would give Manny big credit for beating Martinez at 150, and HUGE ALL-TIME credit for beating him at 154. Same goes for Mayweather.

Floyd has said he's taking a few weeks to talk with his team and figure out who's next, and as long as Pacquiao agrees to testing by the USADA, he would fight him. Martinez just came out and said he'd be ready to fight Pacquiao at 150 next, which is what his team asked for (On a side note, team Pacquiao HAS NOT agreed to testing by the USADA. Ariza just came out a day or two ago and said they would never agree to what Floyd wants AT ALL, contradicting what Arum said alla long).

Don't you find it funny that Pacquiao now all of a sudden has Bradley lined up as his next opponent for May 2012, since Mayweather just had a one-sided victory over a prime Ortiz and Martinez just said he'd fight Manny at 150????

I like his pick of Bradley, read my original post. It's the first prime fighter he's faced since Solis in 07' and his best choice since Marquez in 08' or Morales in 05'. However, you don't think Arum, Roach, and Manny could possibly be avoiding a fight with Martinez or Mayweather next??? If it's true that Pacquiao is already lined up to fight Bradley in May 2012, he won't be available to fight again until Fall 2012...who's waiting for who to get old now????

No. Sergio (160) agreed to Manny's (147) demand of fighting at 150 lbs. It's more like Amir Khan (140) refusing to fight Saul Alvarez (154) at a 144 lb catchweight.

I don't want to see Sergio drain himself to 150, but I would give Pacquiao big credit for beating him their. I would give Pacquiao HUGE credit for beating him at 154. But, Pacquiao-Martinez won't happen.

I seem to recall Lou Dibella saying that if Mayweather-Pacquiao doesn't happen in Spring 2012, than Mayweather-Martinez is a huge possibly. I hope it's true, because Pacquiao already has a fight lined up for Spring 2012. Funny indeed. I do like the Bradley pick though, his best since JMM in 08' or Morales in 05'. It's just funny since Floyd is coming off a one-sided win over Ortiz and Martinez just agreed to Pacquiao's weight demand.

Agreed. I said that in my original post. Don't you find it funny though that he has this fight lined up, even before his fight with JMM, and it's now lined up after Martinez agreed to Pacquiao's weight demand and Floyd is coming off a one-sided win over Ortiz???

I also don't believe Pacquiao will EVER agree to get tested. Ariza, Pacquiao's conditioning coach, said a couple days ago that they will never agree to Floyd's testing because they shouldn't have to. Contradicting what Arum said about drug testing being a non-issue. How can you not start to believe that Top Rank and Team Pacquiao are trying to make it look like Mayweather is ducking him???
