Comments Thread For: Rafael Marquez: I'm Going Right For Nishioka's Chin

Former two division champion Rafael Marquez (40-6, 36KOs) sat ringside when Toshiaki Nishioka (38-4-3, 24KOs) knocked out Mexico's Jhonny Gonzalez in three rounds at Arena Monterrey in 2009. Marquez noticed a few qualities about the boxer, but the main thing he noticed is what Marquez feels is Nishioka's inability to take a good punch. Marquez wants to test the chin of Nishioka in the early rounds of action, as the Mexican boxer will attempt to capture the WBC super bantamweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I think this is gonna be a good fight as almost all of Rafas fights are. Is this the night all the wars and training catch up to Marquez? Is Nishioka a hidden gem as some have suggested? Or will Rafas power and experience write the story?

Rafa is clearly done. If he wins it has more to do with Nishioka not being good enough to beat a former great than him not being washed up.

I don't disagree with you that Rafa quit--but Ortiz? Everybody quits but the Mexiphobes at HBO shout it from the rooftops and make it a holiday when a Mexican does it. Hopefully I never quit on you.
