Is there any denying the Delahoya resume is the gold standard of our era?

With the exception of Wright and Forrest, he fought pretty much everyone he should have.

    T’is a worthy resume.

So what he got the benefit of the doubt against Whitiker, Quartey and Sturm.

          It balances out~

mosley's is just as good if not better

fought winky who oscar wanted no part of

            a young undefeated cotto

margarito coming off his career defining win

not too mention two fights with forrest

and what about casamayor he has fought everyone

corrales 3 times, katsidis, marquez, guerrero, castillo ...etc

not as big names as dlh or mosley but some of the best fighters in their respective weight classes

morales and barrera deserve a mention aswell as does juan manuel marquez and bernard hopkins

He definitely was in a lot of huge fights...

I remember people saying he was afraid to face Ike Quartey and even though he postponed the fight, he did finally get in there with Ike and eventually Tito...

A few of his decisions I feel could have went the other way.. I had Quartey beating him by a point and thought the Whitaker fight was extremely close... Against Trinidad you can make the case that he had done enough in the first 8-9 rounds to get the victory...

I feel he was the better man against Mosley in the rematch but definitely thought Shane pulled it out in the first fight with that big push in the second-half of the fight...

But Oscar definitely fought a lot of big names

This is why I dont get why there are a minority of people who really dont like Oscar De La Hoya, the man fought everybody there was to fight, whether he had an advantage or a disadvantage he still fought his heart in every fight and didnt duck nobody.

So he lost some big fights at least he had the heart to take them in the first place unlike many of the boxers these days.

Imo if alot of the modern era boxers had De lay Hoyas attitude to the sport boxing would be a much better game.

Being factual, apart from the fact that he lost all his big fights, and "won" a few that most observers were sure he hadn't won, it was also a fact that, like Mayweather, he had what the journalists and experts called his "Brains Trust". He picked his opponents veeerryyy care-fully...... Unfortunately, not as carefully as Mayweather, because he slipped up with Trinidad and Mosley. After that he was just a very good fighter, but no longer the Golden Boy, and just made money fights.
