Floyd got hit by stuff he would have avoided a few years ago, he's not as quick with his feet as a few years ago...that's what happens when you age and are inactive.

Pac's face gets battered every fight because he's offense first, however, if you look at his fights @ ww, he's actually getting hit less than @ 122-130, because he has improved his movement/defense (going from poor to decent).
I agree completely with this. It is Floyd's footspeed that has decliend and it has left him more vulnerable to being hit. And, crap that wouldn't have ever landed 5 years ago is getting through today. Like those lead lefts by Ortiz. Roach was probably drooling over that. If Ortiz could land a lead left, think of what Manny could do with his blazing footspeed, angled attack and faster hands?

    • I've watched the Mosley fight countless times and the Ortiz fight around 10 times and from what I can see Floyd IS less mobile and doesn't move around as smooth as he use to as he kind of drags his feet now.. BUT! he isn't anymore hittable than he was before because Floyd usually always gets caught at some point with a good shot or two in most of his big fights going way back to his early twenties.. its a fight you're going to get touched not like he can dodge every single punch.. but Floyd is also stronger than ever now that hes older and hes still sharp as a razor just because hes naturally slowed down a little dont mean a thing he just beat a guy 10 yrs his junior what Roach fails to mention is Pacquiao himself has been looking like hes slowing down and getting hit a lot more than Floyd getting sluggish from too many wars...

      • roach saying fmj is more hittable now...sounds to me that this was a concern for the pacquaio camp...i don't know man i was feeling pacquaio's stance on the testing, but after reading this, sounds like there was a stall tactic going on for fmj to lose a stop or two...so roach, manny, enough of the wait man, take the test and fight fmj...

I don't call a champion 140-147 lb'r not fighting a champion 160 lb'r "ducking". It seems to me that all you guys just want to see a little guy beaten up by a big guy. Why?? Is there something wrong with your thinking??

You recall that Pacquiao, after the Margarito fight, said he'd been hurt to the body, also said that he wasn't fighting at anything more than 147 from then on, that 154 was too big for him. This seems to be so simple to understand that a child could instantly grasp it. And it was the first time that he'd ever said(to my knowledge) that he'd been hurt in a fight.

          Why can't you understand it?

            • IDK what Roach is talking about because other than the headbutt Ortiz got nothing of effectiveness accomplished during the course of the fight and was dominated for the most part.

See thats what I'm talking about right there.. pure rubbish.. Floyd didn't get hit with anything new from Ortiz that he wouldn't have got hit with years ago because as I recall Floyd has been hit HARD and CLEAN shots square on his chin by Emanuel Augustus, Castillo, Corley, Judah, Baldimor, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez AND Mosley! and those dates range from back when Floyd was 23 up until 33.. yes his footwork has regressed a bit but he still rolls his shoulders well taking a lot of the impact off of most of the incoming punches Floyd probably got hit the most hes ever been hit against Castillo and Oscar when he was 25 and 30 years old and in his prime...hes no more hittable now

                  • It's also funny that Roach states: "you can't be nice to this son of a b*tch because he will take advantage ...."

But it's okay to head butt the **** out of Floyd as a fight tactic??? c'mon roach coach!!

I think Victor had the right idea – to rough him up,” he went on. “That’s why I think he butted him, he was just way too apologetic. I think he should have got on with the fight and maybe, headbutted him again because that’s the way to beat Mayweather, to take him out of his game. He frustrated him with that headbutt, you could see him complaining and crying but you can’t be compassionate. This is a physical game. Ortiz got caught up in it and it cost him.”

So in order to beat Mayweather you have to cheat to take him out of his game??? But if he gives you a two piece and biscuits while your hands are down then it's not okay???

Now we know that if the fight ever happens, and pac fights out of the ordinary with headbutts and other illegal tactics, then it's part of the game plan to try to beat floyd.
