Compubox is generated by a person on ringside, so just like anything else man made, errors can happen. While I think the stats serve a purpose, I think they're doing more harm then good anymore.

People love to use fighter a) outlanded fighter b) by over 50 punches, so fighter a won easy. This arugement is simple not valid, stats don't tell you anything about ring generalship, effective aggression, defense, overall dominance, etc.... This has created many lazy viewers and boxing personal who simply think that they can go on punch stats alone, to determine a fight.

While I do think stats have a place, and do serve a purpose, I feel that it would be better for the sport to do away with em.

Also, I had Mayweather winning 8-4, or 7-5 in their first fight (it's been quite a while, and I'm pretty sure it was 7-5). The problem is that Castillo was in such a hole by the sixth. I had Mayweather winning the first five.

Why do away with them? It's not like it effects the judges scores. They don't get to look at them. The only thing it does is make people talk about stats more. Generally speaking, those people can be ignored, because they are ******.

compubox stats are nice to have, but you cant judge everything by them cause they can be flawed and inaccurate.. thats why i hate it when the announcers rely to much on the compubox stats

          hmmhmm

I think CompuBox is VERY biased. I watch fights, score a round, then the compubox numbers show the complete opposite, especially in fights like Barrera-Morales III, De La Hoya-Mosley II, etc.
If you scored that for Mosley then you're an idiot.

Compubox is not biased, nor is it perfect, but from what I've seen it's pretty accurate. Judges don't use it to score fights anyway so there's no need to ***** about it.

Compubox is a good thing to have in boxing.

Exactly thats why fights are scored individually round for round.Usually the guy that wins the most rounds wins the fight.Cant have a guy land 200 punches in 1 round and a total of 250 for the fight win. When the other may lands less punches total and win more rounds. What im trying to say is most of the people here in B.S are not basing their opinion on the fight from the a)very biased HBO crew b)Ledermans scorecard c) compubox numbers.I had Castillo winning slighty and its just my opinion and the opinion of many very knowledgable people here and any site you go to.If you have a different opinion it is fine by me but you are not in the majority.

              Definitely inaccurate.

Were ta compubox doos sitting next to Jim Lampley? Cuz that would explain WHY MOrales seemed TO OUTLANDED PACMAN BY WIDE MARGIN.

Each time I see ta compubox of Pac vs Morales I jest go "No ****in way". Pacman, one of ta most accurate punchers in ta game OUTLANDED BY ALOT by Morales. Impossible considerin Morales throws like one straight punch each, then a jab. It's pretty repetitive. WHILE Pacman was throwing sizzling combos that were landing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cept they dint have ta power enough to KO Morales.

Man lemme tell you sumthin. If Pacman threw 6 punch combos each time, I bet half or mo lands. SHYT!!!!!!

I think we have proven enough that compubox is a joke. Also all the holding & hitting by Bitchkins against Taylor was also counted by the compubox.

I agree Jabs. Commentators rely too much on compu box numbers. Other than the way a fight is scored and the 3 knockdown rule, numbers dont really have a place in boxing IMO. Look how it effected the olympics.
Save the dam numbers for baseball. In boxing the only thing I look for is who's kicking who's ass. Effective aggression. If they ever start using those numbers to judge fights, the sport will be in big trouble IMO.
