Competitive fight, but I think Cotto woulda been too strong for him. UD for Cotto.

Is this at 154 or 147?
Either way I'm picking Oscar, but how he wins would differ depending on the weight.Comment

At that point Cotto's skills were far superior to those of De La Hoya and as we saw against Mosley Cotto's speed, timing, accuracy and chin were at their best. De La Hoya was old and on his way out Cotto would have blasted him out of the ring and TKO De La Hoya in the 10th round.Comment

At 147 it's Cotto all day long. Cotto would take away his jab and really discourage Oscar with combination punching and body punching. Oscar could stun Cotto but not finish him and he'd get discouraged.
At 154 it's De La Hoya all day long. Bottom line... Oscar would be too big. His punches would back Cotto up big time and wear Cotto out. It would be similar (not the same) to Cotto vs Judah except Oscar would be Cotto and Cotto would be Judah.Comment

Prime for prime no doubt Oscar destroys Cotto.
But, that version of Oscar is completely overrated by many. He was already done as an elite fighter. By that time was a part time fighter, full time promoter.Comment
