There's a big difference between being "washed up" and faded. Fighters like Jose Luis Castillo and James Toney, for example, are washed up. Miguel Cotto is faded.

And even a faded version of Cotto I believe is still capable of beating a feather-duster, who doesn't have the ability to outbox him.

Cotto beats Lara by Experience. Cotto still has gas in the tank and would beat Lara by 10 round TKO. The Two times Cotto has lost because he was sluggin it punch for punch and lost. Lara will not go punch for punch with him. He will try to box him and Cotto whoops boxers all day.

I am a huge Cotto fan so I hate to say it, but I dont think he should tangle with Lara. Lara vs Martinez is more appealing.

Lara is a world beater off of one fight. Smh

He has limited power, perhaps worse conditioning and fights at a pace that Cotto loves.

I think this wouldn't be competitive at all.

Now Cotto/Molina would be a great scrap

All of a sudden, Cotto is Ricky Hatton. C'mon fellas. This guy is as composed as it gets in the ring and he finds a way to win. Unlike Lara who falls in big fights.

I thought he won the P Will fight, but not as clearly as HBO made it sound. Molina beat him... Solid, solid fighter, just not on Cotto's level right now.

There is a skeleton(Mayorga or Holyfield) and there is washed up. Cotto is washed up(so is Margarito)

Its this simple the Cotto that showed up against Clottey, Foreman or Mayorga would be lucky to win 1 round against Lara.

I can't help but think some of you guys are idiots. How can you say Cotto gets out classed or destroyed? When has Cotto been out boxed? Cotto is one of the greats of our era. Don't think some Cuban standout will beat him.
