Quinton “Rampage” Jackson declares: “I’m gonna go to boxing''

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has revealed he’s prepared to walk away from his career as a mixed martial artist to forge a new career inside the boxing ring as he’s desperate for the kind of fight that will get his juices flowing.
Speaking via ESPN’s Podcast, Jackson said:

“I hate fighting people who are scared. When you fight somebody who is scared you never know what they’re going to do. They turn and run. That’s why I’m gonna go to boxing. I’m gonna try boxing because they’ve got to stand with you. If I get knocked out I don’t care because at least it’s a fight.

“I’ve tried a lot of boxing, I’m falling in love with boxing and I know I can put butts on seats over there
    .”

Badr Hari is quitting K1 too and going into boxing and apparently meeting up with Naz Richardson. I have respect for these guys but its basically learning a whole different sport.

rampage has power, but he's a very limited striker, poor boxing skills. did you see his sequence of 3-4 windmill airswings the other day? pathetic. he'd get owned by guys with any decent boxing ability. I actually think Kimbo has more boxing talent than Rampage. Hell, that would make a great freakshow fight.

hey, it's great news for boxing.

These guys are athletes and they may not amount to anything but all the same, they are willing to try it then I support them.

“I hate fighting people who are scared."
Says the guy who hardly threw any punches in his last three fights. He was the one that was afraid to risk letting his hands go.

in other word u wanna quit mma and start boxing because u're to one dimensional! there is no rule in mma/ufc that your opponent have to stand up and trade with u. its called mma for a reason!! if your opponent is a master of the ground game best believe he's taking u to the ground. its no different compare to boxing. why would your opponent wanna stand up and trade with u when his best skills is on the ground? i like ramage but he depends to much on his strikings. this dude is actually really good at muay thai but he never uses his kicks. he's to predictable thats why he wants to go to boxing now. in mma u have guys mixing it up all the time, strikes, kicks, take downs, and with rampage all u have to worry about is his strikings, u dont have to worry about any kicks or getting taken down.

its to late for him to switch. its just gonna be another kimbo slice. ramage is a beast but i do not see him posing any threats to the already respected guys in boxing.

This is a first. An MMA guy trying boxing and not being heaped with negativity. Says a lot about Rampage considering he's somewhat limited.
