The media is hyping them. Just because they " escaped " from communism. Lara, Casamayor and Gamboa are very good but quite boring. Gamboa, even though has great technique, is dirty and hugs too much. The rest are just OK. If Gamboa defeats, say, Rios or Garcia without the hugging, I would say he´s great. Not now.

The "escaped from communism" thing is good for getting your foot in the door. After that, as far as sports broadcasting goes, you'd better bring it. How long do you think the powers-that-be are willing to lean on that angle?

And you're calling Gamboa boring? You can't be serious. Yuri's one of the most exciting boxers currently in the sport! He does get a little carried away sometimes with the fouls...but hugging? Gamboa doesn't do enough of that to bear mentioning.

That's really unfair if all of those guys really did turn down a fight with Lara. Angulo and Vanes are supposedly fighting each other though, right? Kirkland and Dzinziruk have no excuse though.

Dzinziruk has a WBO mandatory defense that is overdue like three years and was supposed to happen tomorrow, but has been postponed due to an injury by Dzinziruk.
