I only vaguely follow amateur boxing, I know the important names and faces of the supposed top guys but I don't get to deep into since my focus is the pro game and the amateur game has little to do with pro success.

Rau'shee will be the first American to make three teams if he can make the next one, that is the extent of my knowledge on him other than I remember him loosing in the first round last go, oh and he is from Ohio so in general I am not a fan~

just a hypothetical question, gino. .. lets just SAY, a boxer was prescribed (or got a dr. recommendation in a legalized state) for medicinal marijuana. . . and he decided to compete in a few amateur tournaments - and he tested positive for THC - do you think he would be ok if he was in compliance with state law? or do they comply strictly with federal law, and the failed test would disqualify him? I wonder if it would depend on which state the tournament was taking place in?

          Raushee way ahead of everyone

If he does well in Baku at the World Championships he'll be on his 3rd Olympic Team...

You would need to get medical clearance IN ADVANCE if you were gonna be prescribed any chemical or medication that is on the WADA restricted list.

For example, there has been an unusually high number of athletes claiming that they need modafinil. Kelli White (who was the main whistleblower on BALCO) was on modafinil. It's used to treat narcolepsy. How many people REALLY have narcolepsy?

In truth, its OTHER use is as a PED.

That's the thing about the OST that Floyd wants. Under the WADA/USADA program, there are SO MANY drugs that you can NOT take. Drugs that are not screened by NSAC.

People think it's just a timing /cutoff/ random/ schedule issue. It's not. The WADA list of banned substances is much broader than the list that NSAC tests for.

There are athletes who are claiming "low T" who want to be prescribed "the****utic HGH/Testosterone".

                ALSO... and this is important...

When you do Olympic Style Testing (or the variant that PBF does) the testing agency records a profile of your biochemistry.
                • For example, your normal hematocrit levels.
                • Your normal epi to test ratio
                • Your creatinine levels, etc

So, when you test later, and something in your biochemical profile has substantially changed, that is a big red flag that something is amiss, and you've (likely) taken a drug that is androgenic or anabolic.

I would have liked to have seen the "before" nums for Manny.

Plus they keep the B-samples so if he was on some cutting edge shit no one even knows about yet, they can always go back and test if he gets caught up later on.
