      850.000*70$=59500000$
+ live gate 9100000$ (official number)
      that's 68600000$
this you people call failure??? it was the most expensive ppv also, 17% more expensive than usually. if you consider this into ppv numbers it would be 850k*1,17=994500, so that's just a bit below a million.

From how you guys talk all we need is a date, no promo needed.

Fact is less jobs, less home owners, less PPVs these days. Not to mention the fact that nobody wants to see these guys fight unless it's against eachother PERIOD!!

You guys form a line to check for Floyds PPVs 10-11 days after the fight, but where are the Manny/Marg & Manny/Shane numbers? OFFICIAL NUMBERS.
But when Floyd outsells/outsold Manny it's "PPVs don't mean anything"??????

Clottey/Manny had 50k in the stadium, 20 to 30k were give aways..
850k is not official but a good number considering everything. Plus Floyd can't sell 3 tickets according to the Paklas, so I'd say 850k non official is a blockbuster
stfu... here's a fact.. pac vs. clottey had little promotion. floyd vs. ortiz had blockbuster promotion while still a bust. even margarito 2 yrs after his exile still able to outsold hbo regular victor ortiz

It's been almost a month since the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz Star Power pay-per-view and, to the best of my knowledge, not a word has been spoken about the buy rate.

Golden Boy CEO, Richard Schaefer had been speculating 1.7 to 1.8 million, yet the usually loud, quick on the draw promotional partnership of Golden Boy and Mayweather Promotions has yet to even mention the possible numbers behind the show.

Of course, this could have to do with business dealings and/or data collection issues beyond my knowledge, but the likely reason for the strange silence is that the numbers for their split-site showcase were lower than they'd care to admit.

And, given the circumstances and natural order of things, this is to be expected.

There are only so many big fights to be made in the current state of boxing and Mayweather, kept away from Top Rank fighters in a blood feud with Top Rank CEO, Bob Arum, has been frozen out of a good number of fights. So, with a limited pool of fighters from which to choose, it would only stand to reason that "Money" would be out of money fights sooner rather than later.

Manny Pacquiao, despite his immense fan base and media darling status, is likely headed down the same path of diminishing return.

After his upcoming bout with Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12, meaningful fights with big-name fighters and interesting back stories will be extremely hard to come by. As a matter of fact, unless Top Rank finds a way to recycle and re-package past opponents, the pressure will be all on Manny when it comes to selling the fight. And, as we saw with his PPV bout with Joshua Clottey (which sold a modest 700K units), even the great Manny Pacquiao can't sell an entire event on his own.

i'll be surprised if it does under a million, even considering the ridiculous price it was. seems like everyone watched that fight that night.
