Everyone will believe what they want to believe, but being privy to the court proceedings for the past year plus, I have no doubt that Remillard is being screwed by the system. There were three others involved in the incident that were initially charged. These three (who are all related) copped deals to turn against Remillard. They all walked away without anything, despite being responsible for the majority of the damage.
The truth would have come out in trial, but going to trial would have meant 3 people against the word of one pro boxer in an assault case. Remillard would have been looking at over 10 years if he was convicted. It’s easy to place the blame on the boxer and he’s also a better target for a civil suit. You won’t get any cash out of three low level townies, but you can go after an aspiring athlete for compensation.
In addition, the alleged victim’s hands aren’t exactly clean. His own involvement and actions towards the woman and others have unfortunately been kept from the media. While unfortunate, it is also no surprise as his family is very well connected in the state.
Remillard never had a chance in this case.
The girl is also related to the other three, looks like they did burn Matt on this one.
Sounds like a retaliation of family members and ex-boyfriend.

about the use of bats...all is fair in love and war. I have had to fight for similar reasons, but never had the pleasure of using a bat. God bless him. I know hes going to be locked up a while, but a part of you never regrets it.

"Everyone has a plan...until I hit 'em....with a bat." Matt "Batter Up" Remillard 2010. What a gutless thing to do A coward only threatens when he is safe. I betcha Matt felt pretty safe with a Louisville slugger in his hands. He's getting off easy.

It's not a good week for New England. Patriots get beat, Red sox lose and Matt Remillard is arrested. Good thing your fight isn't this weekend ICEMAN.

"Remillard went on to say that he is a professional boxer and that he has a solid punch," At 135lbs? Enough to do that kind of damage with his fists? Are you people nuts?

@iceman: While he was on his way home(Evans), he got a text message from Danielle Napolitano telling him to come back. She wrote that she was all alone, the warrant states.
Evans turned around and drove back to the house. When he arrived, Danielle Napolitano was waiting at the door. He walked in behind her and noticed the lights were off.
"Evans stated that when he turned the corner he saw a baseball bat hitting him in the face," the warrant states. He turned around and "Remillard swung the baseball bat at him again and again, hitting him in the arm and the hand."
Your right, if Evans doesn't follow Matt to the house, he doesn't get ambushed. You've solved the case. Cong****. (and enough with the CAPS)
