    who did more for the african american people in boxing??
    Jack Johnson:
    he was the pioneer but his conduct made him an outsider to the white community,

    Joe Louis:
    he was the first black figther to be accepted by the white community, after his fight with Schmeling. and he was highly regarded by the whites

            it is not about who did more...it is about who "did" for society...

            there are a lot of others who "did" something and a lot who did more than those you listed...but whether someone did less or not does not diminish what they "did" do...

            in other words, I think this thread is pointless because who did more especially out of only TWO is irrelevant

              I agree. I mean we have Martin Luther King as BIG figure. He did alot! Magic Johnson is one of ta Africans to make basketball legit. Denzell Washington also paved ways into MO MOVIES fo African actors.

                no see you are getting it al wrong, i mean african american boxing, they both fougth and became the best in a time in which african americans wherent allowed to do so, they both paved the road for people like Ali and every other african american figthers. i dont see how can you think of their achievements like that.
