why doesn't he just try getting in better shape and lose the two or three pounds? if not, just defend his belt against guys his own size. he's fighting manfredo jr, that's a start. perhaps after, look at guys like ishida, spinks, or mudine. then man up and fight someone like rubio or martinez. both alvarez and chavez jr need to prove themselves in their own divisions instead of fighting each other imo.

JR. you fat pig. Quit your crying and shed the extra few pounds if you want the fight. Canelo makes more money than you, puts more seats in venues and is more skilled.

Frankly, it appears Bob Arum has no other way out for Jr. so is trying to make the most money he possibility can before dumping him. Jr. can face Rubio, Martinez or Canelo. Everyone knows that any of the 3 are a sure L for Jr. But which one will make Top Rank the most money? So, it looks like it will be Jr. vs. Canelo at 158 in LA or Mexico City.

would chavez jr be considered weight drained if he decides to go down to the 156lb CW to fight canelo? if chavez jr really does struggle to make 160lbs then it might not be smart for him to try and bring himself down to 156lb. so i can see why he might be hesitant to accept the CW.

Weight is very important for these two WBC PAPER CHAMPIONS! 50% of their strategy is to fight a smaller and less powerful guy, therefore they know that with each pound up or down they stand a better chance respectively.

I like what I see on Canelo... he is all action and earn his popularity the hardway. In the other hand, if Chavez Jr.... is just that... JR! If his last name would have been Santiago... he would be holding the water bucket for Alvarez right now.

But these guys are not champions... they are WBC Mexican Champions! Until they earned their title against a worthy opponent, they are just but side shows.

I'm amazed Alvarez is not calling out Pual Malignaggi....LOL

Chavez, I hear he is still trying to get Gatti on the ring.... LOL

            **** Jr. and Canelo

They are both little *****es, so following Jr's logic if he weighted over 180 for the zbik fight, why isn't he fighting kessler or ward or froch or bernard, pascal, etc

Both of these guy are such ****ing *******.

            They r also ****ing ******.

I don't know why everyone is talking about these 2 fighters actually facing each other in a fight when we all know Jose sulaiman DLH and everyone else are not gonna let them fight. Sure it's a blockbuster deal if they made it in Mexico selling out a soccer stadium that fits 100,000+ he'll I'd buy it to on ppv but why would they ruin someones career if we all know these two individually bring big money to fights and probably even more in the near future. I just don't see this fight happening ever
