When Floyd says that Ortiz should rematch Berto first, seemingly the implication is that he'll take the IBF belt as well. While Floyd doesn't need a belt to maintain is stardom, we can hope that he wants to unify the division.

Here's the deal, Floyd was beginning to feel this kid had no respect for him, was beginning to turn it up a notch and make it dirty pushing Floyd around; going to make it a streetfight. Floyd wanted no partof that and as soon as he could pull off a cheap shot and get out of there, he was ready, found it, and took it. And for his sake, he's lucky Ortiz couldn't continue, because Floyd would have been ripped a new ******* as the fight wore on. Now he's out, and again thinks he can dictate who fights who before they fight him. Tried to tell Khan he needed to beat Vargas first. Then tries to tell Ortiz he needs to beat Berto first. Then tries to tell Pacquiao he can't train at home in Thailand. Tells Pacquiao he needs to be tested by his choice of USADA as opposed to the WADA. Mayweather is not Boxing or the commission. Nobody in any other divisions makes these demands. Floyd thinks he's bigger than the sport. There's legendary fights to be had without Mayweather. Nobody likes him. And if he wants to retire undefeated, having avoided the best of the best his entire career hand picking safe opponents, then have at it. He'll NEVER be considered a legend of Boxing, like Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Arguello, Chavez, Dela Hoya, or Mosley, who all went to war multiple times against the best of the best, all in their prime. One day Floyd's money will be gone, and that "0" won't mean a lot. That will be his legacy. Always took the safe route. Gutless. Never grew a pair.Comment
