I think we all got too excited off of his win over Berto. Ortiz is not too focused of a fighter against adversity (Maidan/Floyd). Even in the fight with Berto in the round where Andre dropped him with the hammer Ortiz was looking like he wanted a way out until he fought back and dropped Berto.

Floyd Mayweather Jr did what he was supposed to do. Although I would have waited a lil longer and just punished Ortiz but totally understand why Floyd punched Ortiz in his dumb ass mouth. I would not be surprised if Oscar told Ortiz to fight dirty the way De La Hoya has been defending Ortiz. You could tell that it wasn't in Victor Ortiz's nature to head butt a fighter like that and that's why he felt so bad for doing it. Someone told him to because if it was him then he would have not cared.

Anyway, dude was frustrated and not effective and whatever advice he got prior popped in his mind and he did it. My mother used to and still says "Don't write a check that your ass can't cash" AND "Don't dish it out if you can't take it". What is also funny is that Ortiz got ****** once in his face and did not put his hands up but rather looked over to Cortez to say something? Why would he just stand there and get smacked in his mouth without fighting back? It's in a fighter's DNA to react spontaneously. Victor Ortiz choked on the big stage plain and simple.
