look it's no secret that merchant has been critical of floyd in the past but he has been that way with other fighters aswell who he thought were super talented but didn't want to risk being in a proper fight
the same criticsms have been thrown at roy jones in his prime also but more times than not merchant is asking the questions FIGHT FANS WANT ASKED!!
his days alongside jones jr and george foreman are some of the most memorable broadcasts in history if you ask me
dana white's opinion on anything boxing are really irrelevant and his time in the fight game is limited compared to someone like merchant who has seen the sport change before his eyes over substantial amount of time
maybe when white has been in the game a fraction of what merchant has his opinion may hold weight but white is a prick and i'm never going to like him no matter how many years he has in the sport (if you can call cage fighting a "sport") so his opinion means **** all to me either way
For many years I have disliked Larry Merchant as a boxing commentator,he thinks his words or clever and smart,he is boring and should be an English Professor of some small college some were in an unknown country.
I like Merchant. He probably shouldn't have let himself be provoked by Mayweather, but he's an old man and one of the few benefits of being an old man is being able to speak your mind whenever you please.
Mayweather doesn't like being confronted by difficult questions and gets frustrated when he isn't allowed to reel off soundbites. It's an interviewers job to ask the questions that the viewers want answered, no matter how difficult they may be and Merchant was just doing his job.
MMGAY = a bunch of juiced up,glass jawed grapplers swinging handbags at one another.First joker to connect on the other's fragile glass chin is the winner.Well, either that or several rounds of dry humping from the two "fighters".
It is,was, and always will be a complete and utter joke.
