We'll see. If Margarito's team is confident he can go right into this fight, that's their decision, they probably feel they have Cotto's number. Cotto should win this fight, especially if everyone feels Margarito cheated the first time. Margarito has nothing to lose here, the majority feel he he is done and going to get stomped.
Cotto stops Margarito this time and heres why!

Talk boxing?
The bum in your sig was handled with care. Luis Callazo whooped his ass, and he got his ass whooped by a quittin' ass head butter....
What will Cotto think when he gets in the ring, and Margarito continues to hurt him and absorb his best shots? When he finds out it wasnt the "plaster" but it was the "WILL" of the other fighter that broke him?
the ghost of Margarito has appeared in a few of Cottos fight since July 26, 2008.... Clottey, Pacquiao, and it will appear in real form on December 3rd, 2011.
Cotto will kneel down again, just like the first fight, just like fellow Rican CalderPWNED, and like the bum in your sig.
Sincerely,
El Hombre!

El Hombre IMHO Cotto lost that fight, not due to margs astute ability. The gameplan was terrible You, I and anyone who generally knows boxing ,Margs glass belly, It will be exposed. You can guarantee the Manny Steward is breaking out a Margareta gameplan as we speak. Later on in a career of a fighter he loses speed and power the best boxer who can instill technique usually wins. FACT Marg has been a one trick pony for as long as I can remember blowing out bums like Golden Johnson is a testimonial to his legitimacy. FACT He has little versatility but a boat load of durability which was tested to the face, but, and not the body. Cotto will exploit and will break him down to the body early and often. Cotto will turn him fire and then hold if need be. Eventually Marg will be a statistic like every other boxer who lacks versatility and the ability to adjust threw a fight. If he keeps coming it will just turn into a strong man competition how many clean shots he can take. FACT This is the end of the road for this cheating motherfuc.ker and hopefully has the decency to fade away.

I think it was Kellerman who said, during Bute-Andrade II, that if you can't hurt a guy upstairs, he is usually more vulnerable down at the body.
Margarito was hurt early in the first round against Mosley and in the fourth round against Pacquiao.
BTW, I saw another post saying Cotto's taking a knee quicker in the fight. You couldn't be more wrong and I wouldn't be saying it unless I was very certain about it. Cotto's making it to the final bell even if he takes the beating of his lifetime. We aren't seeing a knee again. And I don't see why Cotto catches a lot of flak over that, he was done in the first fight. When you see a fighter that can't even lift his arms up properly to defend himself, that's a very dangerous situation. If Cotto had decided to back up into the corner and let Margarito close in on him, we would've seen a brutal knockout akin to Pavlik-Taylor I.
And another note: I don't think Cotto took Margarito lightly in the first fight. I think that it had more to do with Cotto underestimating Margarito's chin. Margarito is so easy to hit that you go on a punching bonanza teeing off for four rounds thinking you're going to get him out of there. Once you've hit him with the kitchen sink over two dozen times and he hasn't flinched, that's discouraging and along with the body shots, that's a recipe for disaster if you weren't counting on going twelve rounds.
Cotto said that he had the longest training camp of his career for the Margarito fight. He said the training camp was three months long or nearly that. Cotto's physique was actually very good in tthat fight, he was built like a sturdy tank. The physique in the Clottey/Pacquiao fights...he looked more toned, but he looked very slim and small.Last edited by TintaBoricua; 09-27-2011, 11:25 AM.Comment

I think that's true for a lot of fighters who can take punishment upstairs. They're more vulnerable down there than up there.

Cotto wins this fight by going to the body and breaking Cheato down. We all know Steward is in love with Cottos left hook to the body and i think that will be the game plan here. Cheato has to good of a chin so going to the body would make the most sense here.Comment

how can you say that Margaritos plaster didnt make a difference in that fight??? have you ever gotten hit with a cast before??? let me jump in the ring with you and ill have plaster on my wraps, lets if youll go to distance with me budddyy.. lets be serious, Cotto gave a boxing lesson to sugar shane and your telling me to look at Cottos face after the Pacman fight, so did you also looked at Margos face after the Pacman fight!!?? did you take a good look at Margo after the Shane Mosley fight???? i dont think so right.. Cottos face after Pacman just tells you Pacman is aint cheating cuz he's left everyone his fought the same way except shane.. Cotto has this fight hands down his a better fighter overallComment

Cotto took a worst beating against Pacquiao than Margarito? WTF? Cotto was fighting 6 months later Margarito face needed surgery. Coto looked shot vs Foreman? Didn't he KO the guy? Didn't he win almost every round against a natural 154 pounder? I suggest you watch every Cotto fight since the first Margarito fight and every fight of Margarito since the Cotto fight and tell me who looks sharp.Comment

Margarito suffered a tough stoppage against Mosley, was gone for a over a year came back and had a tune up followed by a almost career ending beating from Pac. Cotto has been much more active in between his stoppage losses to both Margarito and Pac. He will be sharper and I'm sure he has physically recovered from those fights even if he has not fully mentally recovered. I'm not sure that Margarito has recovered in either way. The injury he suffered with his orbital bone could have ended his career. They wanted to make this fight so quick that Margarito has not had any type of tune up to get sharp or build confidence. Its a bad move for him in my opinion. I like Cotto and will be in the arena cheering for him. I just don't see how Margarito is going to be sharp considering his activity in the past couple years and I don't know how well he will be able to hold up after what happened to him in his last fight. He may not be the same guy anymore. Bottom line I see Cotto getting revenge in Dec. Thoughts?
Skill wise Cotto is way better and if you also look at Margarito after the fight... Cotto gave him a pretty good beating too - his eyes were almost back in his head...
With that being said - Cotto hasn't been the same anymore - he wasn't this bully kind of fighter anymore - he fought more in spots and boxed more instead of destroying someone... I don't know if Cotto has much left...
If Cotto can get to the body (in the first fight he couldn't) he has a chance... but he has to be game - Margarito will take a lot of punches... and will come to him... but minus the loaded wraps, the broken nose and Cotto has to be up for this fight... I think Cotto can win and will win a decision...Comment
