    Gatti's Future at 147

Id have to say at first I wasnt to excited when I heard my boy was moving up to 147, his only 2 fights there before were not too impressive ( a loss to De La Hoya, and a thrilling fight w/ Hutchinson). But I must say I am a bit excited for the future match ups Gatti could get at 147. And i will be there January 28 in Atlantic City.

Gatti's first test though will be against Damgaard. This is a good test to see exactly were Thunder is at. Damgaard is a brawler which is perfect for Gatti, the only tricky part is he is a south paw. Gatti hasent fougtht a southpaw since the mid 90's. But this fight will prove if Gatti is as bad as he looked during the Mayweather fight or Mayweather just made him look that bad. My opinion is this will go much like the Branco fight, Gatti will win the Decsion and will floor Damgaard a few times along the way.

This is the fun part now. Since Gatti is the most popular fighter in the division everybody will want to fight him for the big money so Gatti could get anymatch up he likes. First off stay clear of Margarito or Judah for now.

I would like to see Gatti vs. oktay urkay, then maybe David Estrada, a perfect fight would be Miguel Angel Gonzalez (hopefully along the way Gatti could fight for a vacated title). i think a real exciting fight would then be against the up and comer Luis Collazo. Also I think the light hitting Cory Spinks is very beatable for Gatti. Spinks lost to Michele Piccirillo! From there maybe a fight with Mosely and if need be a fight against Margarito or Judah for big money and then ride off in the sunset on the way to Canastota.

Gatti is too small for welterweight. He will beat bums but be hurt against top guys, avoid Judah, de la hoya, margarito, spinks, Mayorga and Vargas and he`ll be fine!

judah makes gatti look silly ala pbf.

gatti might beat a couple of bums and look good doing that but as soon as he fights a boxer its over for him.

Ditto in regards to Cory Spinks. He's rapidly careening toward "second-tierdom" after such a blazing start. Of all the top welters I've always thought he was the most vulnerable.

Only Judah is still fighting as a welter, everyone else is at 154. I'd like to see Gatti/Mosley, I don't see much point in Gatti taking anything less than major fights at this time in his career. It's almost over, get what you can, while you can, then get the hell out and hope you've got enough brain cells left to be able to count your money!

He will be successful is he stays away from Judah, Margarito, Mosley and Spinks.

I think Judah stops Gatti in the middle rounds. I wouldn't be surprised if he knocked Gatti out completely.

Margarito stops Gatti in about 7 or 8 rounds.

Mosley decisions Gatti easily. Until Mosley shows the killer instinct to stop an opponent I got to go with the decision. The Mosley before the Forrest fight stops Gatti easy.

Spinks decision Gatti fairly easy as well.

I think all the top 5 guys at 147 beat Gatti. I'm not sure if they'd blow him out like Mayweather though.

Never seen this Damgaard guy fight. Sounds like he's a decent fighter. Gatti will probably have a tough time with him, and I wouldn't be surprised if he lost.

I've actually wanted to see the Gatti Hutchinson fight for a while, but I've never been able to find it. I heard it was a big time brawl. Was in Montreal, wasn't it?

Yea the fight was in Montreal. I think most people r right to an extent on what they r saying. I personally think Gatti's best shot at a title at 147 is if he picks up a vacant title. and make a couple good defenses. the biggests names he can beat r I think Mosely and Spinks. Who else is w/ me in thinking Collazo and Gatti would be a good fight?!? As for Judah I dont know, Judah has the and hand speed of PBF, which will trouble Gatti, but in the back of my mind I keep hearing "Ward went the distance w/ Judah, why not Gatti?" The only problem I have w/ that is Gatti swells up easier than Ward.

Anyway watch out 147 here comes the Thunder.
