The biggest punchers of that era meaning biggest 'one punch' and not combination power would have been Bonecrusher Smith and Razor Ruddock. Guys who would put literally put you to sleep with one punch. More recently Lewis and Tua come to mind. Tyson never had devastating one punch power.

Tyson put a hell of a lot of fighters to sleep with just one punch . I agree Razor was a very hard hitter and never gets the cred he should , Crusher i dont think of as a great puncher just a good one .

Tyson hits hard, a good example is against francois botha, the guy has a great chin and was never ever hurt by one punch, until he took one big punch from tyson. He couldn't beat holyfield cause he wasn't half the boxer he used to be after prison... he only threw one punch at a time. In the second holyfield fight had the fight gone on he would have definetely won if he kept boxing like he was boxing in the 3rd round...
Tyson never got to his full potential... Had he not gone to prison he would have become a hell of a lot better than he was when he was considered to be in his prime (early 20's) But to say he doesen't hit hard is absolutely rediculous... ask botha... even danny williams said tyson hits very hard, or what about that left hook that savarese got floored by even though he blocked it

Yeah they rigged up a fruit scale in Minyards once and he was tested...he broke his hand. When Tyson turned around, there was Donald Hoskins already in one of his rarely see deadly crouches. Before Tyson could even blink, Donald sprung foreward delivering one of his trademark hands behind the back punches, rendering him unconcious. He said he did it because Tyson was getting too big for his britches, trying to hog the limelight from Hoskins.

Tyson's power has been measured and it went in the top 3 of HW's only to be beat by Shavers and Foreman i think, this is wat ive heard so might not be true,
