Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: I Want The Linares vs DeMarco Winner

WBC junior welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36KOs) is planning to have at least four to five more fights before he retires in 2013. Morales tells Sal Rodriguez that he plans to target the winner of the upcoming fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title, between Jorge Linares and Antonio DeMarco, which takes place on October 15th at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Morales never indicates whether he plans to move down to challenge the winner for their 135-pound title, or the winner has to move up.

He was already contracted to fight in Argentina.

Morales is ducking Maidana now. They are both free to fight now, now that they are both free to fight, Morales does not want any part of Maidana cause Maidana will have a training camp for Morales, not no late replacement crap. Plus they would both get more money on their main event, instead of an undercard.

Morales vs Maidana II would have been cool on Star Power, but it just didn't make any sense business wise.

                  You can say that again.

His recent wins against Alfaro, Limmond, Cano and Lorenzo were all amazing, gutsy performance. Hopkins and Vitali wouldn't be able to handle that resume P4P.

Did anyone actually read the article?

He says he wants to fight in December. Then fight the Linares-DeMarco winner next year.

                    Maidana can be in December.

Thats if he doesnt turn down the rematch again.
