    What happen to P4P?????

I find it rather pathetic that the P4P status gets thrown around so much by boxing fans. At the moment, PBF is the FAN Voted P4P. I agree that the cat is good, ungodly ammounts of talent and COULD be a deserving P4P fighter. But it is a little early in his career to even start dropping that **** on him. Jumping weight and taking the easist title holder in that weight (Gatti you are still my boy tho) doesn't make P4P material.

Jermain Taylor, another canadit for that in the future, but again he is young in his career. We will see how he does in the rematch. Win or lose he will be the man to beat in Middleweight. But again, what credentials does he have???? A debatable win over B-Hop that really should have been considered a draw. DEFINATELY not a undisputed title taking win!!!!

I really believe the last true P4P was Robert Duran that or Sugar Ray Leonard. Any gripes??? Both showed took on some of the best during one of the best non-heavy eras on in the history of boxing. And both came out pretty victorious (until the end of their careers, but who doesn't that happen to????) even with each other. Then to top it off, Leonard beats Hagler. Duran loses by decision to Hagler (Duran coming up from lightweight, not welter).

I don't know, I could be completely wrong in some aspects, but I know that to aquire P4P status, I should be completely impressed, wholeheartedly convinced. And really, the P4P shouldn't have to be so debatable. If it is, like now, then that means there are a lot of great fighters out there that just haven't quit proven themselves YET!!!!

Sorry bout the long post, just had to get that out!!! Keep Boxing, or watching.

I think you're misinterpreting many people's use of p4p. When most people say it, it is simply meant that at this time and period they're in the top p4p rankings unless otherwise specified. It is simply meant as a ranking of how good somebody is currently compared to all the rest of the fighters, regardless of weight class. Nothing more, nothing less.
